Will Flyer’s Fever Derail Sestak or Specter?
No joke. The Flyers could defeat either Joe Sestak or Arlen Specter, leaders of the nastiest Democratic Senate primary in recent history. The Flyer’s game against Montreal begins at 7 P.M. Tuesday. one hour before the polls close. Specter needs a big city vote. Sestak needs to score in the suburbs. The truth is that the Flyer’s game may keep many voters away from the polls, especially in that crucial final hour of voting.
It is tough enough to get people to come out for primary elections. Now there’s another excuse. In a close race, the Flyer’s may win.
Now that I’ve offered a bizarre twist to campaign 2010, here are some observations on this weird election.
First: Arlen Specter did change parties so could have a better shot at winning reelection. The spot highlighting his remarks on this, the spot that may have changed the race and given Sestak a dramatic comeback, is hardly fresh news. But it reinforces a stereotype that all politicians will do anything to win. The spot also reinforces the simple fact that most voters don’t bother to have a clue about what’s really going on. So, obviously, it took a clever commercial to convince voters that Specter made the switch to help his reelection chances. Do you get my drift?
Second: the spot about Sestak’s military career highlights the facts that his views were not appreciated by the Bushies who took over the Pentagon. Truth or fiction? Neither. Probably a bit more tabloid than truth, since it is common knowledge that Sestak, a favorite of the Clintons, was not loved by the Bush Republicans.
It’s been a rugged race, and the big winner, for now, is Republican Senatorial hopeful Pat Toomey. While the Democrats cannibalize each other, Toomey can save his cash and Tea Party support for the fall. And what a feast he inherits – sound bites from both Sestak and Specter verbally savaging each other.

Waiting for the 7:01. Another week in paradise.
Alas a topic change but is it really a change? Larry has 3 consecutive posts about the specter of Specter and Sestak. No one has commented on this race in days – except Larry of course. WTF? You have got to be shitting me.
The truth is that it is a moot point who wins on Tuesday – Flyers aside. The Dems will be summarily run out of office in droves by their GOP counterparts in November. Neither Specter or Sestak has a chance against the diminuative one – Toomey. The flip flopping nasty old Specter was once the pride of Philadelphia and PA. Now he’s a grumpy old man that won’t retire and go away peacefully. He has that sense of congressional entitlement. He does not want to give away the limelight. He must be embarrassed and chased from office. That will come soon enough. Sestak is a lightweight with no credentials. His being a favorite with the Clintons will be a deterent to most people except the yapping Jack Russell. “Not appreciated by the Bushies”. Are those the people from Bushwood Country Club like Al Czervik and Judge Smails or are you refering to the Bush Administration? Your bias is showing yet again. Too bad. You have earned lots of goodwill from your conservative readership base for ceasing your endless ubiquitous shots at Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh and the Tea Party and the GOP. Kudos for that anyway. Was “the Bushies” a sideswipe Lar? If you had used the “Clintonistas” in the same sentence you could have pulled it off.

Holly Robinson and Bret Michaels as the Celebrity Apprentice was predicted here. Who else deserved it? I like the twist of putting the muscular one Summer Sanders with the hound dog Bret. Why does she accentuate her masculinity with those sleeveless dresses. Love you Sum but those guns are a bit imposing. It will be interesting to see who wins. Smart money is on the organized one – Holly. I do like Bret and think his out-of-the-box thinking will win the day. Let’s hope this is decided before Bret’s aneurysm debilitates him. Holly Peete is a bigger fighter than Rodney Peete. Too bad she wasn’t playing QB for the Eagles. Too bad she’s not the First Lady. No Donkey Zone on Holly-iscious.

I’m jazzed to get an extreme conservative like Toomey up for the run. Polls show that Sestak would cream him, but we Tea Partiers know that Sestak’s moderate views won’t fly with Pennsylvania’s extreme conservative population. I expect Toomey will win with 99% of the vote.
To say that the Flyers game is going to effect the election outcome is insane. The rabbid fans we see on TV dont usually vote anyway, those more normanl fans will vote sometime before game time, and Sestak will win by a surprising margin. Spector would have lost as a life long Republican, he will definatley lose against a clean, articulate and good looking Democrat like Sestak.
I have no dog in this fight, but I do have an idea that some eighty year old jowled faced turncoat is just what America doesn’t need. he served as a Republican in the Senate for 30 some years yet he is endorsed by our current governor, the mayor of Philadelphia, all the Democratic unions, has voted for Democratic issues 95% of the time since he turned Democrat and still calls himself an independent thinker. All this guy wants is a job. He could care less which party he works for, as long as he is getting a paycheck. Unfortunately we are paying for his salary. Enough of this smuck. People wake up and smell the matzo.
Prediction……… Specter gets spanked.

All this talk about 2 losers running in PA. Much adieu about nothing. Snarlin Arlen’s time has come and gone. The once bright beacon is now a nightlight on the wall in the bathroom. He has alienated both parties like no other. He has run his course. Time for him to move to Boca or East Stroudsburg. Get a gig on CN8. Call it something clever like Arlen’s Arena or Specter the Spectator or Voice of the Unreasonable. He can bump up against the Voice of Reason. What a formidable pairing that would be!
I have no dog in this race either. Like most in both parties I have a distain for turncoats like Arlen. We’ve known each other for years. Play on the same golf courses. Drink in the same bars. But that’s where it ends. Sestak seems like a nice enough chap. He has no idea what he’s getting into. He’s already drawing a full military pension. Now he wants to double dip? It is truly 6 of one half dozen of the other. They are both liberal pukes. What does PA need? A breath of fresh air and a new face. Not happening with these 2. Where is Larry fav Josh Shapiro in this fight?
Flyers can not possible crush or embarrass the Habs again. This is more a battle of the expansion vs the establishment. No team represents the old NHL more than Les Canadiens. Let’s keep this puck moving.

Well I’m back from the polls. I cast three votes for Toomey at different locations under my different Republican names registered by people working for Ron Paul. Toomey is the kind of ultra-right wing guy I’m looking to go up against the Dems this fall. If we are luck, Santorum will emerge and start crowing about him.
Tea patrtee Express doesn’t understand how many Democrats vote from the grave. If one were to look up the majority of voters who voted for Philly Democrats he’d see that most of them were already dead. I say dead, but only from the neck up.
