To Lower Merion School Officials – Come Clean on Laptop Crisis
The FBI is investigating. The parents have filed a lawsuit. The nation is watching. And so far Lower Merion school officials are not exactly forthcoming about the alleged monitoring of a student at his home through the camera in his laptop computer.
So far, the schools Superintendent and spokespersons for the district have been very “official” in their responses. No one has directly denied the charges. People are defending the assistant principal who was apparently involved.
Message to Lower Merion school leaders: Let the truth be known quickly. Was the student monitored at home without his knowledge through his laptop computer given to him my the district? What was the inappropriate behavior the district was seeking, if any? Were the students rights violated? If there was illegal spying, was it just a single case, or was there more? Are other cameras now involved? Why is the Superintendent not conducting his own review and quickly? If the charge is not true, why is Lower Merion not completely refuting it?
These are questions whose answers are owed immediately to the students, parents and teachers of Lower Merion.
Lower Merion is a beautiful community. it’s school system is highly regarded. But this case has cast a shadow over the schools.
My advice: Tell the whole story before it gets out of control.
And….
If any teacher, adminstrator or principal ordered the intential web-camera surveillance of any student in their homes, they should be dismissed.

Larry wants immediate action on a mere accusation by one student from a privledged school district while the streets of Philadelphia are overrun with flash mobs creating havoc and destroying what’s left of center city’s reputaion. Don’t worry Larry they will eventually find out what is going on in Lower Merion. What needs immediate attention are the animals beating up Asian students and gathering on social networks plotting their next great mob scene in Philadelphia.

Animals! That’s what they are, wild animals running a crime wave in their natural urban habitat. Larry won’t take up the issue of flash mobs or racial attacks on Asians and whites in the city of Philadelphia. Potholes and voyeristic suburban school administators are much more important. Further, he advocated the black principal who didnt protect Asian students be reasigned (versus fired) to another school, but we must fire the suburban administator who allows cyber peeping to retrive missing school property- a double standard? You decide.
Just this week another white Universtity of Pennsylvania student was attacked and stuck with an ice pick at 38th and Sansom. The universisty enacted its emergency alert system via email to students and parents, something they failed to do when a black man shot up the movie theater there a few weeks ago. The problem was the alert did not contain a racial description of the alleged perpetraitor and that it was not just a punch and grab, which happens to white and Asian students every day on Penn’s and Drexel’s campuses without any news coverage or email alerts. So how was Penn’s University alert going to help stundents protect themselves from a rampaging black man with an ice pick who was stabing at will for ipods?

It’s good to know that lord Abbot is out working today. Besides sitting on a park bench panhandling he also has a place to lay down his head. What a twofer.
The rich mainline students will probably get richer while my disadvantaged students in Philly will reap the whirlwind of the backlash towards flash mobbing in center city. Is a flash mob that bad? Do hundreds of black children running wild in the streets really upset our citizens? Or is it that the citizens are jealous of these free spirits that are enjoying the freedoms bestowed upon them. Throwing snowballs and ripping off a few people while shoplifting merchandise and kicking someone’s head in is all part of the freedoms we should be enjoying.
Listen Larry immediate answers to hard questions can’t be done. Just ask me a question. I’ll take months trying to find an answer, and when I do find an answer it won’t satisfy any one but my agent, who is having a hard time living off my income lately. In fact he wanted to bunk in with me at my Sex Addiction clinic. I told him I’ve already got a couple of rommmates already. And Oh Boy the sex is great.
I did pick up some new sponsors for when I return to golf. Viagra gave me a bundle of cash to represent their pill and Girls Gone Wild videos needed a spokeman. I told them I’d have to ask my wife.

Larry, did you see the Bloom Box on 60 minutes tonight? Fuel cell energy to heat a house in a box that’s the size of a loaf of bread. The lure of a Bloom Box and nearly free electricity is a pretty compelling propostition. They’ve raised $400 million in private equity and Google, Fedex and Ebay are powering their buildings with it. Could be a major green energy break through.
Also, a very sad and compelling story about a Blackwater cover-up about a plane crash that killed five in Afganastan. McMahanon’s brave and very comely widow was an inspiration of how a woman can successfuly take on our government while serving it with honor, check it out!

The superintendent is communicating with the parents every day via email updates. As a Harriton parent, I am willing to allow the investigation to unfold, rather than let one kid’s unsubstantiated allegation force anyone to hurriedly rush to conclusions.
Oh, and Larry? Learn the difference between “its” and “it’s”, please.

Let me guess, you are a school teacher yourself, and pay a lot of taxes to send your kids to a better school than where you teach. You dont want the school to get a bad rap because you have friends on the school Board and you really worry about property values and your kids getting into college,, bla bla bla. Basically you’re an annoying soccor mom, who doesnt like the kid or the paernts who filed spying complaint, bla,bla bla..you’ve come to the wrong place. We are judge and jury here and want heads to roll at Harriton, and we will not rest until someone is fired, as long as it’s a white male. Too bad your school isn’t run by incompetant blacks, no one would have even complained or thought spying like that was a crime. There’s a long line of stonewallers from Nixon to Tiger that ended up looking stoopid because they just can’t admit they got caught. as much as LM administration is trying to protect the assets by denying and “investigating,” even the sports guys can figure it out. Fess up, blame the renegade asst principal and the lack of policy for the new technology, pay up, get the kid off the TV, and move on. But don’t say it didn’t happen. Nixon wasn’t a crook, either.
