Concrete Charlie – Pothole Patrol – Governor Who?

On the pothole patrol. If you think February is rough, wait until April when you’ll be riding through and over the biggest potholes in history. Highway experts tell me that the massive use of salt along with over 76 inches of snow will give us a new record in giant potholes. This is another big time problem from our strange and wondrous winter.

Governor Who? Recent surveys show that with the exception of Republican Tom Corbett, few Pennsylvanians know anything about the many candidates for Governor. Corbett is better known because he’s been the Pa. Attorney General for over five years. Dan Onorato is known in the Pittsburgh area, but the suspected Democratic frontrunner has a lot of work to do. Of course,  party leaders are hoping that the less you know, the more they’ll have a chance to control this election. That, in itself, is a great reason to find out more about the candidates.

He’s controversial. He’s tough. He played 58  minutes on both sides of the ball when the Eagles beat Green Bay in 1960 for the NFC Championship. Chuck Bednarik, known as Concrete Charlie, joins me on Voice of Reason at 9:30 tonight on the Comcast Network. The show, marking the golden anniversary of that game, also features top-notch sports journalists Ray Didinger and Stan Hochman, along with the writer of a new book on Bednarik, who is considered the greatest Eagle player of all time. Incidentally, that win by the Eagles in 1960 was the only playoff game lost by legendary coach Vince Lombardi.

He’s nonconfrontational. He never been called tough. He spends less than 58 minutes a week on his blog. Larry Kane, known as PC Larry, interviews arguably the greatest Eagle of all time. Concrete Charlie was beloved by Eagles’ fans of the 50s and 60s for those of you too young to remember. He was the last Gladiator in the NFL. A warrior that held his ground on both sides of the ball. Today’s tough guys pale by comparison. Ask Frank Gifford and the NY Football Giants. Just in case you missed his shameless plug earlier in the week, it’s at 9:30 tonight on Comcast.

They have shortened the luge run to slow it down, so lets hope to God no more deaths at the Olympics. The opening cermonies cost one tenth of Bejing, I’d say it was a good value.

Talking about the risk of upcoming potholes this April is one of the most inane middle aged man topics I have ever read in a blog, whats with this guy Larry Kane? I came here for Beatles talk and maybe some current events or sports, but not to worry about the possibility of potholes. It’s as crazy as warning about the possibility of heat stroke this summer if its unseasonably hot in August. “Hospital emergency rooms could be overwhelmed, elderly could die, the city should give out fans, its going to be terrible” There you go Larry, your blog topic for tomorrow. On Tuesday why dont you warn about the shortage of Halloween pumpkins that could result from the hot summer. Children might have to miss pumpkin carving, parents who cant afford the higher prices will resort to stealing pumpkins from patches and off front porches. Seriously Larry, your pot hole warning is tantamount to warning about heat waves and pumpkin shortages. Sometimes its better to say nothing at all if you are at a loss for a real blog topic

On Wednesday Obama Took the First Major Step in a Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States
On Wednesday the Obama administration took its first major step in a plan to ban all firearms in the United States. The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg. The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms.

The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened. Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws. Does that mean Obama is telling the truth? What it means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in Congress. We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.

This is not a joke nor a false warning. As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary, so will gun control.

U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto.

The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush’s administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better. Gun control is not a joke. I’ve spent enough time in NYC to realize that “those people” want to outlaw guns of any kind. they are the same “those people” that want to have state paid drive through abortion clinics without parental notification. These people are friends of Obama and want to dictate how we should live.

Dick Cheney, who has actaully shot a man with his own gun, is a patriot who is trying to protect our country from radical Islam. Everything he did is being vindicated and history is going to treat him as the most effective and biggest thinking vice president in American history.

I am smoking the most delicious A. Fuente cigar today. It’s a really good quality cigar, with a nipple like tip that goes in the mouth. It burns so evenly and steadily that somehow I justify the cost and risk to my health. It is the most enjoyable thing that I have consumed, it’s worth dying for.

Obama smokes cigaretts, so they will not be outlawed anytime soon, but thats coming if there is a second administration. If he had one of these nipple-tipped cigars he would be a better president and decision maker, but Michelle is unlikely to allow any other brown nipple-like objects into his mouth, so Barrack will never pleasure himself with an Autero Fuente cigar, and that my friends is a travesty.
