Class Is The Word For Brookshier – Iran Showdown Ahead – Political Greed?
Class. That’s the only way to describe the private demeanor and public persona of Tom Brookshier. Beyond the football story, he will be remembered as one of the most giving of public people. His time, for good deeds, was never a problem, nor was his penchant to take younger broadcasters and athletes under his wing. People also may forget, especially the younger readers, that Brookshier was the most important national broadcaster of his time, providing commentary to Pat Summerall’s play-by-play that kept NFL fans glued to their seats.
IRAN AGAIN
As the Obama administration reels from the health care defeat, other storm clouds are brewing. The policy of two administrations has failed to move Iran from the hard line position on nuclear capability.. Thus, the reports of new American missile defenses headed to the Persian Gulf and the Middle East in general. There will be a showdown with the extremist regime sometime this year, maybe sooner than later.

There seems to be no sense of compromise in the war between the White House and Republicans. Don’t look for any thaw soon, despite that remarkable give and take between the President and the House Republicans. But I wonder about this. If the Republicans look too hungry for victory in the fall, and they become roadblocks to anything, will they repeat the excessive ardor of the Democrats in the House, and suddenly turn the public against them? Greed and excess in the political spectrum, on both sides, often causes REAL change. Just ask Scott Brown.

Looking forward to Voice of Reason tonight, finally a good topic. It will be interesting to see who Larry considers a finacial expert and if they have any real insight.
The Downtown Scotty Brown skit was pretty funny on SNL last night. They are definately no longer treating Obama and Dems with obvious bias by sparing them them the most scathing ridicule. Fred Armison as Barney Frank was paricularly good.
I went to the Temple FB Camp as a HS player one summer. Tom Brookshier was the best instructors at the camp. I learned a lot from him that week. Too bad people have to die to get Larry’s praise.
Obama has brought the rath of the nation upon himself. He lied and misled Americans about his true intentions. Republicans have their own set of problems. The only time we see the unfiltered PC Obama is when he thinks no one is watching.
I, too, saw SNL last night. That was a very good skit in amongst some very sketchy material. I like the Fred Arneson over-the-top Barney as well, Lord. I thought Boxer was a lesbo though.
Way to go Larry. We’re stuck watching dog killers, accused rapists, gun toting thugs and you praise a guy that was taken off the air for merely mentioning the IQ of a team. The PC crowd in this country has everything half ass backwards. When we fianally are able to tell it like it is people like you will die a death reserved only for the forgotten.
Barney Frank doesn’t need to be portrayed by some actor on SNL in order to be ridiculed. The guy is comical on his own. How people vote for this idiot is beyond comprehension.

Let me tell you Gecko man. Brookshire was fired from announcing for pointing out the potential IQ of a basketball team. I didn’t hear the Larry Kanes of the world sticking up for Brookshire when it happened. Now when he’s dead the Larry Kanes of the world come out of the closet to honor a great man. True hypocrisy…… Oh but I’m sure when Marv Albert was let back in to the announcing ranks Larry was all for it.

So Brookshire just insulted the IQ of a basketball team? Is that worse than what Imus said about female college basketball players? I think the IQ insult is worse than nappy hair, but both are probably kind of offensive. However, both men sincerely apologized.
My dad said Obama was “clean and articulate” and now he is vice president, so its okay to say that! But IQ and black womans hair is off limits. Dad always says Barrack is smart and Michelle’s hair looks great. He calls mom, Doctor Mom, or Doctor Jill, and then asks for a rectal exam- he’s such card!

Interesting comments from Lord Abott on the Grammys last night. Personally I find that whole music crowd a bunch of self-absorbed punks and thugs. I wouldn’t a buy a CD to support one of them. Remember my musical formative days were Bobby Vinton and Buddy Holly. I listened to the Beatles and British invasion bands in the 60s. I listen to Bread and Gordon Lightfoot when I was dating Jill. We were rocking the rack to other tunes perhaps but you could clearly understand the words and the tunes weren’t thrown together in 20 minutes. That was music. This is crap. Across the board.
I did watch the Pro Bowl until McNabb entered the game. It was like watching a touch FB game in my backyard. I couldn’t bear to see McNabb disappoint again. Desean Jackson is a real NFL star. He can scoot. McNabb not so much.
I’ll spare you the Barack bashing this morning. Let’s see what he is up to this week. I suspect he’ll try to end run healthcare when no one is paying attention.
