I suspect her using the title is a form of insecurity. She did go to school at nights to get her doctorate. She worked very hard for it. She is proud of her accomplishment. She should be proud of that accomplishment in that I was never home. She raised my family. She worked full time and got the degree at night. That being said it does come across as petty and childish.
You would never see or hear the First VP from Scranton ever throwing out his title. No insecurity here.

Definately not a good speller or typer Joe, spelling and typing are not my forte! Joe, you are quite verbose, an early riser, and a discipled daily blogger, perhaps they are your gifts. I read your work everyday, you don’t seem to be a big fan of your boss. I\You wife likes to be called Dr. Biden, does that bother you? It’s an education doctorate, not the hardest thing to achieve, especially at the University of Delaware. Most people only use the Dr title within the academic setting, unless they are medical doctors. What do you think about your wife using the prefix all the time?

Ed if you think your day was ruined yesterday look at mine. I had my day all lined up. Maggies. Lowes. McDonalds. Maybe a siesta in the afternoon. Then I get a 911 call from the White House. Be there by 11AM. No explanation. Casual dress. Will serve lunch. So I get picked up by the Secret Service at 9:45AM. Whisked down to DC. Show up at the White House and Barack informs me that we are getting out and going to see a basketball game. What? I messed up my carefully planned day for a basketball game. I’m figuring it must be some CYO or intercity game. Pretty close. Georgetown. You know I appreciate basketball as much as the next guy but. I use to be quite the player back in the day. Jump’in Joe. But really. Why Georgetown? Turns out Duke is visiting Georgetown. So we go over with our VIP seats. Front row. Styling for the press. Watching a college b-ball game. Personally I’d rather be watching the Blue Hens. Back to the White House for pizza night with the Obamas. Well the girls and Grandmom. Barack and Chelle went out to some disco to boogie. I’m babysitting.
Now I’m waking up in the Lincoln Room for the second time in one week. Everyone else is asleep here. I’m texting from my bedroom. Help! Save me!
I may have to revisit my plans to watch the Pro Bowl tonight. We watched some Disney animated movie called Shrek last night. Somehow they got the voices of Hollywood actors and actresses to play the parts of the characters. It is amazing what they can do today. I found out there is sequel to Shrek. I’ll have the Secret Service pick it up for the ride back to Delaware. I can watch in my DVD player. This trip isn’t so bad afterall. See Ed look for the silver lining.

Justice Alito has disgraced our once proud institution. He’s the first justice, man or woman, to have a petulant outburst during a State of the Union speech. And the Republicans were worried about Sonia Sotomayor’s judicial temperament. As if anyone on the Court ever had such a brat attack when Reagan or Bush attacked the Court by claiming it got Roe v. Wade wrong. My, my, my. You can take the boy out of New Jersey, but you can’t take New Jersey out of the boy. Maybe he can be on that MTV show next year. He might even get some.
