Ugly Is More Than A Four-Letter Word – It’s All The Rage

It is all the rage . And some of you are part of it. More on that later. Let’s begin with….

Congressman Joe Wilson, Serena Williams, Roger Federer and Kanye West have highlighted a week of American rage.

It began with Congressman Wilson, who by the way, has raised 1.5 million dollars in campaign funds since his outburst that interrupted the President’s speech to Congress on health care. Is there something in the water in South Carolina? Wilson disgraced his state with the weird outburst. But wait a second! This is also the state of Mark Sanford, confessed adulterer who refuses to leave office after constantly embarrassing his wife and family, and probably misusing state funds.

Congressman Wilson was rebuked by Congress. But egotistical politicians never learn. Believe  me,  he’ll screw it up again. I guarantee it.

Serena Williams threatened to shove a tennis ball down the throat of a judge who declared that her feet were in the wrong place when she made a serve. The match was ended but Ms. Williams raged on. She still, at this moment, has not properly apologized. She later said she didn’t threaten to kill the judge, but last I heard shoving a ball in the mouth of another human being can kill them. She was fined $10.000. People forget that a profane and stupid John McEnroe set such a bad example so many years ago that thousands of kids emulated his ugly act. Serena Williams carries on the McEnroe tradition.

Federer was pretty bad, but it was uncharacteristic.  There is still no excuse. But Kanye West’s act on the video awards ceremony was just plain ugly.

Who’s to blame?

We are. We put up with the celebrity thugs who adorn out TV screens and award their behaviors with even more exposure and adoration.  We make excuses for them. We sometimes copy them to perfection.

Remember the driver who is tailing your car with rage. The man in line at a store who angrily shoves his way in front. The bullies? These are all bullies and we have to fight hard not to become like them.

Hate. Ugliness. Unrepentant anger. Thank goodness so many of you are good and decent people. But for a vocal part of the population, whether it’s the drunken maniac outside a football game, or the hate-filled homophobic, or the 12 year old tennis player with the foul mouth, or the bigoted church-going antagonist who professes to love all, but hates many, this behavior in America is all the rage.

I have no doubt that it is the intent of MANY broadcasters to create the behavior you condemn.

The Hate filled antagonists like Beck, Hannity, O’riely, Dobbs, etc. do more to create this ugliness by insinuations, outright lies, or unresearched materials used to attack innocent people.

What follows is in defense (for now) of ACORN and how the actor entrappers were duped:

    Attack Videographer Caught in
    Manipulation and Lies

(San Bernardino, CA) –Today the videographer James O’Keefe’s hidden camera “interview” with San Bernardino ACORN organizer Tresa Kaelke, airing repeatedly on Fox “News”, including the Glenn Beck show, and on BigGovernment.com, has been caught out
in an obvious set of lies and manipulations. When the actors approached Ms. Kaelke with their provocative costuming and outlandish
scenario, she could not take them seriously. So she met their outrageousness with her own personal style of outrageousness. She matched their false scenario with her own false
    scenarios.

“They were not believable”, said Ms. Kaelke of the two actors. “Somewhat entertaining, but they weren’t even good actors. I didn’t know what to make of them. They were clearly playing with me. I decided to shock them as much as they were shocking me. Like Stephen Colbert does – saying the most outrageous things with a straight face.” While her sense of
humor might not be funny to many people, the fact is that she spun false scenario after false scenario and the videographer ate them up.

For example, in response to the set-up by the filmmakers in which they say they are trying get the young woman away from her abusive pimp, she responds that she was abused by her former husband as well (true) and that she shot and killed him (false). He is very much alive and living near Barstow, CA. However, this is taken as the gospel truth, not just in the film itself, but also by several
“news” personalities, indicating that no journalistic standards were applied to making the video or vetting it for broadcast.

Further, as the actors repeatedly noted how nice she was being, Ms Kaelke responded, also repeatedly, that her “niceness” was just her, not ACORN. “My supervisor would shoot this
down like faster than a bat out of hell.”
When the actors talked about bringing 12-13 year olds in from another country, supposedly because they needed a lot of money fast for a political campaign, Ms. Kaelke said, “You are going to need it for a lawyer!”

These exchanges, which do not appear in the edited film put on BigGovernment.com, call into question the journalistic standards of the film and of any purported news organization
    that chooses to run them.

Ms. Kaelke, who did not know she was being filmed, is appalled that her defensive attempts to deal with a troubling experience have been manipulated into an attack on her work
helping low- and moderate-income families fight the foreclosure crisis, work for needed health care reform, and face the economic crisis in San Bernardino. www,acorn.com

Larry, you continue to embarrass yourself monumentally. First this topic was so predictable that your bloggers could have written it and most likely done a much better job.
Don’t think we missed your throw away line: “This is also the state of Mark Sanford, confessed adulterer who refuses to leave office after constantly embarrassing his wife and family, and probably misusing state funds.” And probably misusing state funds? Never let facts get in the way of taking a shot at Republicans, Larry. You are truly unbelievable! Unbelievable! You are as looney as this ‘John Fisher’ character who is likely Larry Kane in drag.
You are probably asking yourself the question: if you hate this website so much, why are you still here? Very good question. One I ask myself weekly when I check in for your next topic. Each week gets weaker than the previous post.
Get a surrogate, Larry, if this is too tough a task for you!

It is not their acts, for the most part, it is their hypocrisy:

Alan David Berlin, 40, a longtime staffer for a Republican state
lawmaker, was charged on May 29, 2009 with a first degree felony for
unlawful contact with a minor. He is also charged with criminal
attempted sexual exploitation of children, criminal solicitation to
commit sexual abuse of children, all second-degree felonies, and other
offenses. authorities say Berlin suggested dressing up in animal
costumes during online sex chats with a 15-year-old boy. During a
search, agents found wolf- and cat-type costumes in his home.

assistant dean Stephen L. McPherson, who was indicted June 7, 2008 on
13 felony sexual assault charges involving two girls, has entered a
guilty plea to two counts of forcible sodomy and two counts of object
sexual penetration. He is set to be sentenced May 22. There was no
agreement on a potential sentence, except that prosecutors will
recommend a cap of 18 years and six months.

Republican sex offender and former North Country assemblyman and
current state Parole Board member, George “Chris” Ortloff, 61, was
arrested on Monday, Oct. 13, 2008 on federal charges that he used the
Internet to solicit sex with minors. He was arrested following a sting
operation at a Colonie motel and had allegedly arranged for a date
with a minor he met on the Internet. ” The New York Post reports that
he had child pornography and sex paraphernalia in his possession when
he was arrested. State Police reportedly searched Ortloff”’s home in
Plattsburgh and a computer had been seized from his Lake Placid real
estate office, officials said. Ortloff, married with two sons, retired
from the Assembly in 2006 having represented the 110 th District. ”
He was appointed to the part-time position on the Parole Board, a six
year term which expires in 2012, a position paying him $102,000 a
    year.

Republican sex offender & Missouri State Rep. Scott Muschany, (R)-
Frontenac, was indicted today, Aug 6, 2008, in connection with a
reported sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl on May 17, the day after
this year’s Legislative session ended. The alleged victim is the
daughter of a state employee. The girl’s mother and Muschany, a
married father of 2 children, were romantically involved, the woman
said. (Aren’t “Family Values” a wonderful thing?) In a morbid twist of
irony, Muschany was a co-sponsor of legislation that toughened sex
offender laws in 2006. According to his legislative biography,
Muschany and his wife were licensed as foster parents with the
    Division of Family Services.

Hong was arrested July 23, 2008 for solicitation of prostitution.

prostitutes responded to ads placed on the Internet and in print.
Thirty-five people were arrested Wednesday and Thursday, Panos said
    today.

Republican sex offender & candidate for Mineral County (W.Va.)
Commission Wilton Frederick Bland, 30, of Bayberry Place, was arrested

on November 21, 2008. McKee’s journals document that he simultaneously
printed images of child pornography from the Internet and printed
stories describing sexual acts between young boys and other young boys
or adult men. Someone from McKee’s home called the Washington County
Sheriff’s Department to tip off authorities and provided them with
    printed images from a computer.

Republican sex offender & Department of Children & Families press
secretary Al Zimmerman, 40, was arrested Friday, Feb 1, 2008 and
charged with eight felony charges of using a child in a sexual
performance. According to an arrest report, Zimmerman offered two
teens money in exchange for photographing them in sexual acts. The
victims were ages 16 and 17 at the time of the crime, and at least one
may have been in the care of DCF at one point, according to the
report. Authorities believe some of the images date back to December
2005, the arrest report showed. Zimmerman is suspected of taking
photos as recently as Friday, the report showed.

sex. Diamond police say Allen D Kauffman is charged in Newton County
with four counts of enticement of a child after an online
    investigation that began in mid-November.
Diamond Police Detective Jim Murray says he posed as a 13-year-old
girl named Cindy and was approached by a man who used the screen name
duke dukeadk on Nov. 15 about noon in an online chat room.
Murray says Kauffman discussed meeting her to take nude photos and to
have sex. Over the course of seven conversations during the past two
months, transcripts show each chat was sexually graphic. Murray say
Kauffman recognized the girl’s age, and even showed some hesitation,
teasing the girl about whether she could be a cop.
Police say Kauffman repeatedly asked the girl to use a webcam, and
didn’t wait long to use his. The detective saved some photos from a
webcam on Kauffman’s computer in his home in Collins.

Internet. On March 12, Doyle contacted a 14-year-old girl whose
profile was posted on an AOL Web site, according to the Sheriff’s
Office release. Initially, detectives thought Doyle was posing as

Which way are you going, which side will you be on?
Will you stand and watch while all the seeds of hate are sown?
Will you stand with those who say, “Let His will be done,”
With one hand on the Bible
    One hand on the gun
    One hand on the Bible
And one hand on the gun?

Which way are you looking, is it hard to see?
Do you say what’s wrong for him is not wrong for me?
You walk the streets of righteousness, but you refuse to understand:
You say you love the baby
    Then you crucify the man
You say you love the baby
    Then you crucify the man

Every day things are changing, words once honored turned to lies.
People wondering . . . can you blame them?
It’s too far to run, and too late to hide.

So now you’ve turned your back on all the things that you used to preach:
Now it’s let him live in freedom if he lives like me.
Well your light has changed, confusion reigns, what have you become?
All your olive branches turned to spears

The same feature that has been on every network news all week. On Entertainment Tonight and all the other dumbshit icon shows. Same angle. Same take. He is really getting lazy. No one will confuse LK as with a journalist anymore. Not even a reporter. More like a teleprompter reader. I guess that’s what is trendy these days – teleprompter reading. Like Barack. Larry even you the liberal zealot must be growing weary of ‘John Fisher’ the 80 year old born again liberal with cut n’ paste talents extraordinaire and more free time than any non-retired person should have. His rantings must embarrass even you(and based on your recent offerings you are not easily embarrassed). What to do LK? What to do?

What’s your point, Fisher impostor???? My original post reflected upon sexual deviates who are hypocrites!!!

I didn’t spend much time on your list of Democrat felons. I don’t doubt that SOME of your claims can be substantiated BUT I would likly find defenses for many of them.

What takes from the credibility of your post is the last line which falsely claims (IS A LIE WHICH IS HABITUAL WITH DEMENTED REPUBLICANS) that Vince Foster was murdered!!!! You can’t substantiate that claim. Therefor, little credance can be given to the totality of your effort!

Larry, you forgot Alycia Lane, queen of the petulant outburst.

It’s the end product of a capitalist consumer culture that teaches each consumer that his or her needs are the most important thing in the world and are to be satisfied with material products. The message is reinforced over and over through commercial advertising to the point it becomes the baseline assumption many people hold: “I am the center of the universe!” After all of the commercial messages telling people that they are the center of the universe, is it any wonder, then, that people behave like petulant brats when they don’t get their way?

    Let’s get CAKE!

Waiting for the 7:01. ‘John Fisher’ there is a certain finality in your last post. Hope everything is okay. We don’t like your political philosophy or ranting but we wish you the best healthwise.
What was the topic of discussion here anyway?
I see where the State is going to bailout Philly. The city pulled the oldest stunt in the books – threatening to cut vital services of police and firefighters. Were I in the state congress I would call their bluff. There are thousands of useless hack city employees collecting a paycheck because their relative was in a position to hire them. They would not even be missed. This tired ploy of claiming that they have cut to the bone and now vital services are going to have to be slashed is ludicrous. I wish the PA congress had the stones that we are showing on this healthcare plan. We’re ramming it home despite the fact that most Americans are against it because we can!
There are plenty of people to cut before you even start to think about police, firemen or trash collectors. Don’t fall for this nonsense.

I have great news! Yesterday afternoon the Pennsylvania State Senate passed House Bill 1828, which enables Philadelphia to increase revenue, balance our budget and avoid the disastrous cuts that would have resulted from Plan C. Governor Rendell has said he will sign the bill into law.

This is a huge win for the citizens of Philadelphia, and I want to thank each of you who took the time to contact your State Senators and encourage them to pass this bill. You made your voices heard in Harrisburg and your vocal support helped get this incredibly important legislation passed.

I also want to thank Philadelphia’s hard-working municipal employees whose dedication and commitment to public service helped to ensure the success of this budget relief package.

I offer my sincere gratitude to the members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly, especially our Philadelphia Delegation, who voted for HB 1828 and have given us the ability to preserve vital city departments and services. They have come through tremendously for the City of Philadelphia, its employees and citizens.

This has been a tough year. The worldwide economic crisis has hit our city hard. But we rolled up our sleeves and met the crisis head on.

And, now with the passage of HB 1828, we can turn this difficult corner and once again renew our efforts to move forward.

I am so proud of how we have weathered this storm as a city, with a typical fighting Philly spirit. Just think of what we can achieve together when we turn that resilience, that determination, that teamwork towards the tremendous opportunities and endless possibilities that lie ahead.

Thank you for your continuing support and for everything you do to make Philadelphia a great city.

    Sincerely,

    Michael Nutter
    Mayor, City of Philadelphia

    Message to Mayor Nutter:
You should be embarrassed that the State of Pennsylvania had to bail you and the City of Philadelphia out yet again. This is not good news – rather it is very bad news indeed.
    1) The City of Philadelphia still does not have the wherewithal to manage its budget and stay within the limits of their tax revenue.
    2) The City of Philadelphia still does not have the intestinal fortitude to make the tough cuts to balance their budget and get within the limits of their tax revenue.
    3) The City of Philadelphia has to go to the State of Pennsylvania with hat in hand begging for a bailout yet again.
    4) The State of Pennsylvania still does not have the intestinal fortitude to say no and let the city fix it’s own problems.
    5) That this process will continue endlessly until there is some real leadership in Philadelphia or Harrisburg that is willing to stand up and say enough is enough!
Not good news. Very bad news for all concerned. Except the hundreds of hack relatives on the doll on the Philadelphia payroll. They are relieved that they can collect their paycheck for another 4 years without disruption.

Biden/Palin in 2012! Every city for itself. Sink or swim!

Please, Joe, we don’t want to go back (at least I don’t) to the days before Clark and Dilworth!!! It wasn’t a pretty picture then and the Republicans hove nothing good in store for the future!!! Of course, there was a blip when, Rizzo was mayor, but that, too, is in the past. Philadelphia sends a lot of money to HBG and deserves help in these stressful times. There is no jurisdiction, no matter the size, which is not suffering due to the turndown brought on by a deviate Republican administrations, of the past, from the top on down!!!

BE HAPPY WITH WHAT YOU GOT, JOE!!!-:) It could be much worse1!! Oops, I forgot, you don’t live in Philadelphia!!

    I got noth’in. I get noth’in.
The city is bankrupt literally and figuratively. There are no services but the very fundamental services that they supply and even those are substandard.
The Democrats have been running Philadelphia for over 50 years so don’t blame the Republicans for the mess that Philly has become. That is the lamest of all arguments.
The Republicans in Washington starting with Ronald Reagan began cutting back on handouts to state and local governments. Yes that was significant but they have had almost 30 years to figure out how to balance a budget and have made zero effort. Zero! They know in the end Harrisburg will bail them out.
Shameful! And you should be ashamed to be defending them.

I’m getting ready to head over to Maggie’s for breakfast. 2 eggs over easy, side of pork roll and hashbrowns just the way I like them. Then over to Home Depot to press the flesh with my constituents. They are doing a demo on installing a storm door this morning. I always wondered how they did that.
Quiet week in DC this week. Both parties are preparing for the final healthcare battle this fall. A number of prominent Dems have been receiving large campaign donations from United Healthcare, AFLAC, AETNA, etc. I wonder if that may help steer the legislature toward the public option. There is a great article in the 08/17/09 issue of Business Week on healthcare. It is unbiased and examines what is really going on in DC. Grab it and read it before they close your local library. Or have your intern find you a copy like I did.

If a conservative doesn’t like guns, they don’t buy one. If a liberal doesn’t like guns, then no one should have one.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, they don’t eat meat. If a liberal is, they want to ban all meat products for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy. A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, they quietly enjoy their life. If a liberal is homosexual, they loudly demand legislated respect.

If a black man or Hispanic is conservative, they see themselves as independently successful. Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation. A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels. Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church. A liberal wants all churches to be silenced.

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it. A liberal demands that his neighbors pay for his.

Biden/Palin in 2012! More conservative than not.

The only good liberal is a sick and dying liberal who voted for Obamacare, and is being treated under the governmnet option. He/she will soon be a very dead liberal. Think about it, rationing healthcare to liberals is not such a bad idea, conservatives will still be able to buy their own insurance and live long healthy, quietly gay lifestyles!

Speaking of this site time to change the topic tonight Lar. I was extremely weak to begin with and does not deserve a full week. It may be Christmas before you get 100 posts.
Jimmy a couple of months ago I would have been shocked and dismayed by your last comment. Now I tend to agree with you. The most appropriate outcome for these liberals pushing government run healthcare is to have to live with it.

Waiting for the 7:01. I never tire of the attention I draw here at Wilmington station. Basically it’s the same 20 some odd people here every morning waiting for the train. They make a point to say hi to me and the secret service guys. I think one of the young ladies and one of my secret service guys have hooked up. That’s why I got into public service in the first place. Bring people together. Kind of like the healthcare bill.
Notice how the Dems have gone silent on healthcare. They are actually in the backrooms and dark shadows of the Dirksen Bldg hammering out the healthcare bill. They decided it was too complicated and too time consuming to debate the bill with Republicans in a public format. This way they can agree internally on a bill, pass it through both committees, bring it into Congress in the middle of the night and get it passed by a majority. So much for transparency and bipartisanship. I guess our motives are pretty transparent when you think about it. You should all be choking on this bill around Thanksgiving. Gobble gobble!

Waiting for the 7:01. You know a lot of people say “Joe, why do you ride the train to DC evbery morning?” There are 3 reasons. 1) DC is too dangerous. You wander a couple blocks off the main streets and you’re mugged or surrounded by prostitutes. Didn’t you watch The District. I felt safer when Chief Manion was in charge. 2) I sleep better in Delaware. No shrill police sirens or ambulence sounds. Quiet neighborhoods. Nice people and they revere me. 3) I get daily gratification as people on the train tell me what a wonderful person I am and what a great job I do. It’s worth getting up at 0′dark thirty each day. It strokes my ego. By the time I get to Union Station I feel really special.
Did you watch Barack on Letterman last night? What a stiff. I wonder how many takes they had to do on some of those jokes. I’m sure he was working of a carefully prepared dialogue and teleprompters. He doesn’t know what day it is without his aides telling him. Can you imagine if W had gone on Letterman. I’m on my way to Maggies. 2 eggs over easy, side of pork roll and oh those heavenly hash browns. Then over to Home Depot. They have a demo on installing an outside sensor security floodlights this weekend. Not that interested. Can you see the first VP from Scranton on a ladder in the driveway? Now I have people to do these things. I might hold the ladder for my neighbors while they install floodlights if they offer me a Bombay Sapphire neat or 2.
Tonight is my last night alone at the condo. Well not exact alone. I guess you have to count the secret service guys and the guys we bring back from the Parrott. By then we are hammered on Kamikazes. Bonzai!

Biden/Palin in 2012! Two extremes that blend into the perfect mix.

The irony of Bill Clinton telling Anderson Cooper that its wrong to want Barack to fail as President is really quite hilarious. No one wants Barack to fail any more than the Clintons. Even Rush Limbaugh doesn’t hate Barack as much as Hill and Bill. Barack stole their return to the sun. He is dead to them.

so people say I’m gay, but that’s just what some people say, that I’m gay,
and to stay away, but I’m not gay,
you should come my way, all day, come
my way and see if i’m gay, you will not
find fay, you will sway my way.

    My mother is a fashionista
and I use to dress up in her cloths to
quell my woes, and paint my toes, it’s
just a way to express myself in her cloths.

This blog smells like a public toilet!
I want to be a great serious political journalist and I was told by my life coach to come here to learn from the master, Larry Kane. My
coach is a genius, but i’m having trouble
after looking over the body of work that
Kane presents, where is the canny political insights that someone like George Will, or George Stephanopolous, offer on their web sites? I don’t see it. What I see is a city of ignorant working class people with limited education debating issues they dont know much about, a group of simpletons who respond to a former news anchor’s musings. I am not going to listen to my
coach, I think he’s testing me to see if
I recognize good versus bad journalism.
    There is nothing here.

You’re definitely gay or at least your puppetmaster is. No one else would spend so much time putting together such a ridiculous rhyming blog.

The blah-mosphere must really be bad here lately. Even Mr. Fisher has given up on posting his uproariously biased and unreadable rants. Joe Biden has shuttered his summer retreat and the only one left standing (er swimming) is Mr. Filet. Mrs Paul would be proud.
Fall has arrived and Larry must be down in Boca Vista readying his winter abode for another year. I can’t wait to hear about his many battles on the shuffle board court. If Larry knew any better he would have rented out Bernie Madoff’s place. I understand Obama won’t be using it. Michelle doesn’t like the Palm Beach crowd. Too many snobs, don’t you know. Only the Kennedy’s were into throwing big bashes on the beach, and now with Uncle Teddy gone there is no one left to supply all the Chivas. Can you beleive that Massachusetts changed the law back again to allow the Governor to hand pick Teddy’s replacement? This is after Teddy campaigned to repeal this law under a Republican Gov. And Larry wonders why his loyal followers are somewhat cynical.

I wonder if Ted Kennedy’s hell is drowning in a car? Like the move Groundhog Day. Each day he wakes up and Mary Jo is swimming away from the car leaving him to drown.

Massachusetts is such a flexible state. Whatever it takes to keep Kennedys in office. Ted may keep his seat and vote by Ouija board.

It is a little presumptuous of you, Ed, to assume that I am a Mister. Perhaps you think I’ve hooked up with Mrs Paul.

Hey Fish, maybe Kennedy’s hell is waking up every day and having to smell Barney Franks underpants. Some guys go for that, but Teddy was a mans man, so smelling Frank’s soiled underpants day after day might make him reconsider some of his over the top liberalism. The punishment for Mary Jo could be having to hold a bloody aborted fetus in his hands day after day, that would also help him repent for his religious failings and the denial of life to millions of American children.
