Tipping Point On Health Care – Scared Baby Boomers
There is no question that the baby boomer population, raging in age from 48 to 63 will be the tipping point on health care legislation that will be fiercely debated in DC after Labor Day. What’s the issue here? It turns out that this vital group of voters, so critical to Barack Obama’s victory last year, is, by all measures of surveys, scared that payments to their key group of doctors – cardiologists, oncologists and the like, may be diminished, causing a major deterioration in the quality of care. This may be the greatest threat to the Obama and Democratic plan. Keep an eye on this issue as the great debate unfolds.
Forget the actual Michael Vick debate. One score was settled in last week’s exhibition game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Emasculated for years by national media, Philly fans showed their class with a polite and restrained mini-ovation for Michael Vick. Message to national media: we may be a little over the top, but we are the classiest fans in America. As I said a few weeks ago, this is the original city of second chances.
A YEAR LATER…
It was a year ago this week that Sarah Palin was nominated for Vice President. I was there in St. Paul to watch the coronation, and to listen to the voices of the media who proclaimed her the biggest star in politics. Lesson learned: Beware of smooth talking fear stalkers who have simple solutions. Palin was a bust. It had nothing to do with her style, which was colorful and fascinating. The fact was, then and now, that Palin knew little of the problems facing America. It was that, not the petty vagaries of politics, that did her in. It is difficult to convince the voters when you know the issues, especially when you don’t seem to have a clue.

You phony dope.
Substitute Barack Obama for the name Sarah Palin and you have the same story.
Only you are not man enough to admit it.
The real question is: why do I keep coming back here? Larry, you continue to out do yourself with lame blog topics. With everything going on in the world now you select these 3 topics? Unbelieveable! You are either so detached or so concerned about being PC that you dodge every tough topic. You never take one head on. More of a glancing blow or a distance shot across the bow. Can I expect to wait another week for your next topic. Unbelieveable!
Your former regulars check in from time to time to see if anything has changed. Only the topics change weekly; everything else stays the same.
Hopefully this website will not become your legacy, Larry.
Thank you for not throwing bouquets at Ted Kennedy. Far too much has been made of his passing. One would have thought a drive by comment might have been in order though. Instead you use the opportunity to take a shot at Sarah Palin. You are truly unbelieveable! Your bias is showing, Larry. Also “coronation”. That would have been the Democratic Convention, not the Republican Convention. 50K people in Mile High Stadium gushing over every word. But we never let facts get in the way of a good shot, huh Lar?
You commented about how little Sarah Palin knew of the problems facing America. Hmmmm sounds like someone that actually got elected. Obama is like a prep school kid whose car breaks down on the road. He opens the hood, looks around inside and throws up his hands. He tells his girl friend that the what-sha-ma-call-it is broke and it needs a new thing-a-ma-bob. He has to look like he knows what he’s doing even if he has no clue. He is so detached from the average American that he has no idea what they are thinking. News flash: they are getting tired of your rhetoric, finger pointing and wasteful spending leading to nothing but larger deficits. Shitcan this ill-fated healthcare plan now while you still can salvage your presidency!
As a member of the “raging” Baby Boomers, again you have missed the point. Perhaps the Bryn Mawr crowd is “scared that payments to their key group of doctors – cardiologists, oncologists and the like, may be diminished, causing a major deterioration in the quality of care”. The vast majority of Americans are scared that they won’t be able to see their current doctors, will be waiting for appointments to clinics and that the plan will cut off expensive treatments for Grandma. It is far more basic than you are painting the picture. The average American does not want the US Government running healtcare. Period! End of discussion!
See you next Monday morning. Please put a little more thought into next week’s topic. This effort sucks… yet again.
I just returned from moose hunting with Sarah Palin in Denali. No posh island vacations for this north woodsman. She is a fascinating person with a keen eye for wildlife. Maybe I should dump Fast Eddie and run with Sarah in 2012!
Biden/Palin in 2012! 2 Poineers for America!

and giving michael vick a restrained mini ovation is a good thing ? i would have preferred a thunderous chorus of boos.
another shot at sarah palin ? larry, mccain & palin lost, bush is no longer in office, focus on obama.your burn notice will have his fingerprints all over it.
oooJim, the only knowledge you have of what the public wants is what you’ve conjured up in your own head (or been told)!! Likely, it is what you hope they can be convinced they believe or, in spreading the gospel of the right, TOLD WHAT THEY SHOULD BELIEVE!!
The health care system is already inadequate. There are, currently, long waits and rationing of care already exists. People are currently experiencing end of life reality, at too early an age, because they’re priced out of the health care market!! The situation becomes more critical every day. Boomers had best hope that it be addressed by a health system that works for other than just those who can afford to keep up with it!!!! You, too, oooJim, may become a victim of the out of control system we now have.
YAP good point about Vick. And who is Larry kidding about “we may be a little over the top, but we are the classiest fans in America”? Philly fans are among the worst. Unruly and unrestrained. Out of control and classless. Where have you been? Not to the Linc or Citizens Park that’s for sure. Revisionist History 101 with Lawrence Kane. All part of Larry Kane’s Philadelphia.
John Fisher, the health care system needs major reform. Start with caps on malpractrice suits. Why do people get $Ms for doctor mistakes? That will bring down the cost of there malpractice insurance. Which will in turn bring down the cost of services. Crack down on insurance fraud. Eliminate free services for uninsured at hospital emergency rooms. Offer government sponsored healthcare at reduced rates to those that don’t have it. But don’t let the government run healthcare. They can not run anything unless you want it run into the ground. Fix the problems; don’t change the whole system.
Instead of putting caps on malpractice suits, how about just eliminating malpractice insurance. We can’t get blood out of a stone. If the insurance weren’t there to be paid out, the only assets at risk would be those of the doctor who might end up with no equity but who could go out an find a job.(TIC). I don’t know how many mal-practice suits are brought but if a jury decides on what would be fair compensation, based on losses sustained by the victims, who are we to decide that they deserve less??? In my time, thousands sounded like a large amount, today millions is giving way to billions. Money becomes worthless,in time, to those who must struggle to earn their daily bread. I expect these claims consider inflation as a factor.
There is no “free” in hospital emergency rooms. Somebody has to pay for it!!! Fortunately, NO ONE can be denied those services. It could be you who is brought in, left to die because you couldn’t prove that you could afford the service. As for those who CAN’T pay, again, you can’t get blood out of a stone. The laws protect you as well as they do the uninsured or those who can’t afford it.
It appears to me that the current plans, if implemented, giving choice to those who want it, would be what you suggest – a government sponsored program designed to reduce rates and stimulate competition, at reduced rates, by the insurance comnpanies which continue to gouge those who can afford to participate in their games.
larry, you’re right sarah palin was an empty bobble head, but so is the lord obama..the baby booming hillary haters will regret there actions for decades..hopefully the american people wake up and smell the coffee and send lord obama and lady donkeyzone back to chitown, the home the chi-lites….
As an avid baby boomer, this type of proactive writing is what is needed to save the local news organizations from extinction.
I would like to commend Larry for yet another insightful piece of work. Being a part of the extraordinary CN8 family has opened so many doors for him!
Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!
On a much more signficant note…I am working with my boss, supervisor, and true friend Brian Tierney on a collaborative series of positive dialogue intended to bring about substantive changes to the way in which we present our product
Welcome to Larry’s Jurasic Park! This site is roamed by dinosaurs of once great teleprompter readers and curious spectators everywhere. There is inherent danger involved in entering this site. The danger involves terminal boredom, parochial patronizing and industrial strength political correctness. Acute liberal leanings and indecisiveness are possible side affects. Do not feed the dinosaurs but please straddle all fences. Thank you for visiting Larry’s Jurasic Park where everyday is a holiday and every meal is a banquet! Early bird seating available at 4PM.
Larry, I’m back from a vacation in the mountains. Great times. Did I miss anything?
I know what I didn’t miss:
Raging in age? Raging against the dying of the light? They won’t go gentle into that good night, Larry?
As for the applause for Vick, it shows that Philly fans are willing to welcome a sociopath who brutally tortured and murdered living creatures for his own amusement, despite having every monetary advantage and social privilege available to him. It’s disgusting that the fans of this city are so starved for trophies in made up games that they would applaud a man like Vick. Stick to the FREE AIR, Larry.
I would hope that there remain room for comment from those who are not of the conservative Republican Ecclesiology. It would also be nice to see him return to the Democratic Party which left him disenchanted when his opposition beat the pants off him back in 1975 when he was little more than a child. That’s a long time to hold a grudge!!-:)
I’ve never been able to find anything constructive in his support of the democratic ideals which motivate me!!-:) As one who was such a supporter of the Bush tyranny it would be nice to discover that he has become so disenchanted with the philosophy of the right that he would become a great supporter of liberal causes and do a complete about face!!=:) Maybe he would even, now, endorse a woman’s right to choose!!-:)
Ooops!! Let me qualify, lest people become upset that I did not identify Brian Tierney as the subject of my original response to Will’s contribution in Post #9:

With all that is going on in the world, Larry feels
its important to mark the one year anniversary of Sara
Palin’s selection as VP candidate.
If anyone ever doubted that Larry had a liberal bias
ax to grind, this underscores what a lefty looney tune
he is. It is a complete nonsequitor from anything close
to news or apropos anthing being discussed in the media.
Did anyone see his show last night? He asks lots of questions
and readily admits he knows nothing about the topic
so at least he is an honest man.
Sarah Palin’s one year anniversary? Larry has lost touch
with reality, it is quite comical, but the sad part is he
is so clueless that marking such an anniversary borders on
being mentally unbalanced.
Welcome to Larry’s Jurasic Park. If you are visiting here you are likely a raging Baby Boomer and thus soon will receive an invitation from the death panels. In an effort to further decrease the cost of nationalized healthcare, President Obama has pushed the age for death panel selection from 80 to 60. He refers to it as natural selection or thinning of the herd. On a similar note, President Obama selected Dr Jack Kevorkian today to head up his new Age Discriminating Board to oversee who gets healthcare and who drifts off into the ether. On an unrelated note, flights to Canada have been on the upswing for the last 3 months. Thank you for visiting Larry’s Jurasic Park. Please don’t feed the dinosaurs but please insure you straddle the fences.

Does larry know his icon Teddy died?
How about Domonic Dunne?
What about Rendell and PA budget nonesense?
Oh that’s right, those things pale in
in comparison to commemorating
Sarah Palin’s one year anniversary
Of being nominated VP running mate.
I think the truth is Larry is smitten with
Sarah- Mrs Kane better not find out!
Really, there was nothing else newsworthy
besides Palin’s anniversay? God knows what he’ll
do when her birthday rolls around!
Man Friday
Ted Kennedy’s Soviet Gambit
Peter Robinson, 08.28.09, 12:01 AM ET
Picking his way through the Soviet archives that Boris Yeltsin had just thrown open, in 1991 Tim Sebastian, a reporter for the London Times, came across an arresting memorandum. Composed in 1983 by Victor Chebrikov, the top man at the KGB, the memorandum was addressed to Yuri Andropov, the top man in the entire USSR. The subject: Sen. Edward Kennedy.
“On 9-10 May of this year,” the May 14 memorandum explained, “Sen. Edward Kennedy’s close friend and trusted confidant [John] Tunney was in Moscow.” (Tunney was Kennedy’s law school roommate and a former Democratic senator from California.) “The senator charged Tunney to convey the following message, through confidential contacts, to the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Y. Andropov.”
Kennedy’s message was simple. He proposed an unabashed quid pro quo. Kennedy would lend Andropov a hand in dealing with President Reagan. In return, the Soviet leader would lend the Democratic Party a hand in challenging Reagan in the 1984 presidential election. “The only real potential threats to Reagan are problems of war and peace and Soviet-American relations,” the memorandum stated. “These issues, according to the senator, will without a doubt become the most important of the election campaign.”
Kennedy made Andropov a couple of specific offers.
First he offered to visit Moscow. “The main purpose of the meeting, according to the senator, would be to arm Soviet officials with explanations regarding problems of nuclear disarmament so they may be better prepared and more convincing during appearances in the USA.” Kennedy would help the Soviets deal with Reagan by telling them how to brush up their propaganda.
Then he offered to make it possible for Andropov to sit down for a few interviews on American television. “A direct appeal … to the American people will, without a doubt, attract a great deal of attention and interest in the country. … If the proposal is recognized as worthy, then Kennedy and his friends will bring about suitable steps to have representatives of the largest television companies in the USA contact Y.V. Andropov for an invitation to Moscow for the interviews. … The senator underlined the importance that this initiative should be seen as coming from the American side.”
Kennedy would make certain the networks gave Andropov air time–and that they rigged the arrangement to look like honest journalism.
Kennedy’s motives? “Like other rational people,” the memorandum explained, “[Kennedy] is very troubled by the current state of Soviet-American relations.” But that high-minded concern represented only one of Kennedy’s motives.
“Tunney remarked that the senator wants to run for president in 1988,” the memorandum continued. “Kennedy does not discount that during the 1984 campaign, the Democratic Party may officially turn to him to lead the fight against the Republicans and elect their candidate president.”
Kennedy proved eager to deal with Andropov–the leader of the Soviet Union, a former director of the KGB and a principal mover in both the crushing of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and the suppression of the 1968 Prague Spring–at least in part to advance his own political prospects.
In 1992, Tim Sebastian published a story about the memorandum in the London Times. Here in the U.S., Sebastian’s story received no attention. In his 2006 book, The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism, historian Paul Kengor reprinted the memorandum in full. “The media,” Kengor says, “ignored the revelation.”
“The document,” Kengor continues, “has stood the test of time. I scrutinized it more carefully than anything I’ve ever dealt with as a scholar. I showed the document to numerous authorities who deal with Soviet archival material. No one has debunked the memorandum or shown it to be a forgery. Kennedy’s office did not deny it.”
Why bring all this up now? No evidence exists that Andropov ever acted on the memorandum–within eight months, the Soviet leader would be dead–and now that Kennedy himself has died even many of the former senator’s opponents find themselves grieving. Yet precisely because Kennedy represented such a commanding figure–perhaps the most compelling liberal of our day–we need to consider his record in full.
Doing so, it turns out, requires pondering a document in the archives of the politburo.
When President Reagan chose to confront the Soviet Union, calling it the evil empire that it was, Sen. Edward Kennedy chose to offer aid and comfort to General Secretary Andropov. On the Cold War, the greatest issue of his lifetime, Kennedy got it wrong.
Peter Robinson, a research fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and a former White House speechwriter, writes a weekly column for Forbes.
Doing so, it turns out, requires pondering Peter Roninson’s imagination cum grano salis!!!=:)
Read Larry’s heathcare comment, he tells us to
“Keep an eye” on the great debate. What does
he think we and all the town hall meetings have
been talking about. Americans have awoken and rejected
socialized medicine. Larry doesn’t know how to
tell it like it is.
Health care reform is DOA larry, wake up!
Waiting for the 7:01. Sorry I was too busy yesterday to check in on Larry’s new blog. And oh what a glorious blog it is. Healthcare debate ripping the country apart. Ted Kennedy passes away. And what does the blogmeister Larry choose for topics? Michael Vick and classy Philly fans (isn’t that an oxymoron)? Sarah Palin anniversay? ‘Raging’ Baby Boomers? It may be easier to find Elvis these days than it is to find a cogent thought from Larry. Larry’s mind has left the building. Thank you. Thank you very much.

Welcome to Larry’s Jurasic Park. Please check the monitors in our lobby. You can allay your concerns about payments to your key group of doctors – cardiologists, oncologists and the like, that might be diminished, causing a major deterioration in the quality of care. This may be the greatest threat to the Obama and Democratic plan, but not here at Larry’s Jurasic Park. Feel free to share all of your medical conditions and recent procedures with your fellow visitors and the staff. We all care about your most recent bowel movement or enema. We care about your great Aunt Sally and your Great Grandaughter Kristen. Here at Larry’s Jurasic Park it’s all about you. Until you reach the age of 80 years old. At that point you will be retainned for your death panel. Until then, enjoy your time at the park. Don’t feed the dinosaurs and please straddle all fences.
Welcome to Larry’s Jurasic Park. Where dinosaurs come to visit dinosaurs. Don’t feed the dinosaurs before their 4PM early bird special and I don’t mean pterodactyls.
All in all I support the proposed deathpanels and will do everything in my power to bring about a quick and painless resolution. Pull the plug on Grandma!
Larry, your comments section is as useless as it ever was. Good job! Now, do you really believe Philadelphia fans are “classy” for applauding Vick? That’s like saying someone’s classy for applauding Jeffrey Dahmer. Or is Vick different because he can run around and play with a ball?
Degustibus non disputandum est!!!
Look at the praise being heaped on those who murder doctors who perform abortions!! Look at the praise heaped upon those who strap bombs to their bodies to make thier points. Look at those who praise murderers like Bush/Cheney/Rice team!!! Forgiveness of criminals, even the praise extended to them for following victims to churches/mosques to carry out their deeds, reveals the hypocrisy of those who claim their nobility is based on the Ten Commandments which they find excuses to break!! Go fig’re.
As for Vic, if you can forgive anybody, in any group, why do you heap your hatred upon someone who has committed ghastly acts, served time to make reparations for such acts, but who has not murdered human beings???
Dahmer was a very sick individual. Your comparison sucks!!
It might be difficult to understand that there are cultures which consider it a sport to pit dogs one against t’other. Vic was brought up in a culture which found nothing wrong with its practice. He had to learn the lesson that his acts were unacceptable.
There was a time when cultures thought little of such pits in which humans were placed. Most of us have evolved but, then, there are those (like the “Tenthers” who seek support to move us backwards!!!
Some people NEVER forgive!!! Others, knowing that hatred is a negative emotion, tend not to burden themselves with such luggage. It’s much easier, and more of a Judaeo/Christian virtue to forgive. Forgiveness for those who have made mistakes is not the same as “applauding” their act/s.
TRY FORGIVENESS (with the exception of the likes of Bush/Cheney/Rice teams, until they, too, have been brought to justice)!!!-:)
John Fisher, I’d like to schedule an appointment with you.
If I ever KNOW the need, FOR ME, as long as it didn’t get you into anymore trouble, and I could adjust my philosophy to find it accepable FOR ME, I might be happy to welcome you at my side!!!-:)
If that choice were an option, as is birth control, and abortion, I see nothing wrong with allowing others to make their own decisions. I see nothing wrong with people having the Freedom to choose, based on their own philosophy, as long as it doesn;t infringe on the rights of others (not to include semen or developing parasites)!!!-:)

Dick ‘n’ Steven, ALL the king’s horses ‘n’ all the kings’ men cannot put the shell of the Republican Terrorist Team back together again. The LIES of the Hannity’s, Morris’s, Rush’s, etc. have caught up with them to a point where they are unbelievable, NO MATTER WHAT they say or do!!! Their venom is backfiring and, becoming fully exposed, their chances of recovery becomes less of a possibility with each new revelation!!!
They may huff ‘n’ puff ALL THEY LIKE!! It will get them no where!!=:) The majority of the people who are just not that gullible, or stupid enough, that they can’t see through the LIES!!! That’s why the Democrats walked away with the Presidency.
There is not a passing day that another LIE is not encountered AND EXPOSED as being a LIE told by these Republican propagandists, who are spreading vile because they cannot stand up to the TRUTH!!!-:)

Like Vick, Dahmer started by torturing and killing animals for amusement. Vick, like Dahmer, is a sociopath. Just because he went to prison for a few months and can play with a ball on TV doesn’t mean he isn’t a sociopath. People in Philadelphia who applaud him might just as well applaud Dahmer.
We have doctors in this country who torture
and kill fetuses and they have yet to spend

Michael Vick is an American Patriot, who has

Why the ‘O’-ministration will implode in weeks
by Kevin McCullough
Never has an administration who had more firepower at their disposal, been set to so totally fail in the next six to eight weeks. It is nearly a foregone conclusion. It is nearly unavoidable. And it defies all logic given the sizable majority the administration has in both houses of Congress.
Since I was the first pundit to predict Obama’s presidency (Dec 2006) it behooves me to tell you the course I believe the next few weeks will take and effectively halt the radical transformation that the left appeared unstoppable with only months ago.
1. Health Care’s long and painful death.
Barring the existing possibility that the Democrats cram a reform bill down the throats of actively protesting Americans through an ultra-partisan process that would shut out conservatives and Republicans from even being allowed to contribute to the discussion, health care reform is dead. It actually died a good while back when the President decided to pivot and create a new issue that no one had been discussing–health insurance reform. The American people will want to know why we should spend $4 billion to cover everyone in America “efficiently,” when we already do so with inefficiencies like people using the emergency room as their general practitioner for $2.5 billion. Deep thinkers on the issue want to know why the President hasn’t entertained one item of tort reform–protecting his friends, the trial lawyers–yet is willing to claim that doctors are eager to lop off feet, tonsils, and foreskin just to make a buck.
2. Cap & Trade will be the largest tax increase in American history.
With the 2010 election cycle just around the corner, campaign ads are not far off from being drafted. With Cap & Trade still sitting in legislative limbo, with the President’s own advisor–Warren Buffet–now opposing it openly on media, with the 9.12 project in the works in which the largest gathering of anti-tax Americans from the left, right, and middle will be coming to Washington DC on September 12, and with blue dogs getting absolutely hammered in their home districts supporting it, the chance of single-party ram through victory on the matter is not wise. Cap & Trade, if passed, will contribute to unemployment, Wall Street stop and starts, and ultimately reduced treasury revenues. It would serve as the single largest tax increase on the average American in all of American history. Even President Obama admitted as much, predicting that electric bill prices, in his words, would, “skyrocket.” Those that have looked at the specifics tell us that the average utility bill in America will go from $167 to $307 per month, per family.
3. Unemployment to remain high.
Now several Washington organizations from left and right, and one of note consisting of both–the Congressional Budget Office, predicts that unemployment will not shrink from the predicted “Obama high” of 8%. Instead, nearly without fail, economists are predicting unemployment at or over 10% for up to the next 24 months. That is nearly 250% the increase in unemployment under Bush for nearly the duration of his two-term presidency. If people were working, higher taxes and possible new health care entitlements could be considered, but without them working it is political suicide for Democrats to even think of it.
4. Obama’s integrity tarnished in August.
Not a great deal has been made of the whoppers that the President has been spewing while the Federal Government has been in recess, but it is worth noting that many more people than I had previously realized have notice the President “exaggerating” badly in his talks on health care. For instance confusing he actual $500 physicians get to amputate a foot as opposed to the $50,000 that he claimed they got. He has shown an utter disregard for the reputation of those he talks about, the “facts” he uses to make his argument, and is highly overly optimistic about the results of his policies. Long story short, at the beginning of the summer Americans mostly trusted him, his passion index was at +10, he heads into the fall at -14.
5. A $3 trillion dollar budget.
New spending for this and that sure added up. And that brings me to number 6.
6. A coming middle class tax hike.
They will hem and haw. There will be an official, and ever arrogant Robert Gibbs explanation from the White House Press room as to why they must to do this to be “good stewards” and to be a “responsible administration” that, “pays as it goes.” But the truth is, in order to pay for everything they’ve promised and budgeted for, a tax is looming for small businesses and working families that President Obama promised would never come. And as an aside, he was going to break that promise all along. Because the minute the “Bush tax relief” runs out in 2010, middle class taxes would be going up in an “Obama administration.” Hence fundamentally Obama’s “not a single dime” pledge on the campaign trail was bollocks start to finish.
Of course the President, the Democrats, the left, and Congressional leadership could surprise me. They could show up in September and endorse the Coburn health care bill in the U.S. Senate and swipe the credit for it. They could show up next week and fight with all their might to not allow the tax rates to skyrocket in 2010. They could decide to scrap Cap & Trade and re-think the use of public money for true job-based economic stimulation.
But I’m not holding my breath, and I’d advise you against it as well.
They’ve awakened the American worker, the American small-business owner, and the American voter.
All three of which are now wondering aloud, “What on earth have we done?”
Abott, why do you pitch!!! Do you expect that, when you do, you will not find a hitter??? Your temerity is a recognizable trait in those who object to others who dare to meet their challenges!!! If I were less charitable, abott, my responses might be tempered!!!!-:) Instead, you’ll just have to settle for my finger!!! Swallow your pride, abott. At least you won[t be empty in your stomach as you appear to be in the head!!! Pax tecum!!!-
;0
Readers, please see entry #41, lord abott
rests his case.
KM, why have you so little faith??? Of course, we’ll have a health care program, initiated (and approved) by the Democrats who were elected to do just that!!!-:) As for the fears you have, and appear to be trying to spread, that’s your only product!!! The Democrats, who gave us this President, and the majority in Congress, are not buying it!!!=:)
The only fear you have to fear, is fear itself!!!=:)
Use the calculator to see how much the plans, when implemented, will save you!!

I’ve read #41, abott!!-:( What’s your point. Are you not man/woman enough to fend for yourself!!! Must you really call on others to defend you??? Your case is that of a weakling!!!
BTW. abott, I find ad hominem repulsive!!! Nonetheless, when it comes to fighting fire with fire, it makes it easier to use it!! If you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the sun.
Caught the 6:05 this morning. Got to sell the legislation. Interesting points by KM. I think he succinctly stated the case that many of us have been trying to enumerate. Lame duck president after 1 year. Ouch. Will that make me a lame duck vice president? After all I am the first VP from Scranton. And the best I might add. Will that change my status to candidate?
As for John Fisher, I believe he’s part of Obama’s Politburo propaganda machine spreading the socialistic seeds of destruction. Kind of like Johnny Appleseed but with a darker and more devious agenda. They are trying to convert the average American from a democracy to communism one piece of legislature at a time.
The average American was being to feel abandon by their government at the end of the Bush years. They were looking for hope, change and a renewed, reinvigorated America. They were convinced by the press that Obama was the guy to deliver change. Now they see that the change he is proposing is far beyond anything they anticipated or wanted. They didn’t want a communistic society. They just want minor changes, a more positive outlook and a more open presidency. Now 8 months into this regime they find themselves helpless to do anything until 2010. They have given the communists a mandate and a majority. They feel foolish and betrayed. Soon they will get angry and fight back. As we fall further into a deeper recession, there will be more public unrest. As the unemployment rate climbs to 15-18% more people will become desperate.
End of an Error – 2012!
Biden/Palin in 2012! We may not be the brightest bulbs but at least we’re fighting communism.

This is a public service announcement for all of you over 80 years old. Before you are called in by the death panels to determine your future healthcare participation and ultimately your fate, please read this important alternative healthcare plan:

This is part of your healthcare “option” package. Embrace change because change is coming. You may want to brush up on your Spanglish.

Fisher, Barney Frank said it recently at a town

with a dining room table.
I do thank you though for making the case for
socialized medicine, and encourage you to continue,
the more you argue for it the less likely it will
be. The average american can smell BS, and you
sir wreak with the stench of BS.
You guys are really running scared!!!=:) You can’t beat us so you’d best join us. It’s nice to be on the winning side, doncha know!!!!=:) VBG

GIGO. Look at the gerbils! Gerbils in gerbils out. You guys really know how to get your jollies.
GIGO.
GIGO.
1. Mr. Obama is a very intellectual, charming individual. He is not to
be underestimated. He is a cool customer who doesn’t show his emotions.
It’s very hard to know what’s behind the mask. Taking down the Clinton
dynasty from a political neophyte was an amazing accomplishment. The
Clintons still do not understand what hit them. Obama was in the perfect
place at the perfect time.
2. Obama has political skills comparable to Reagan and Clinton. He has
a way of making you think he’s on your side, agreeing with your
position, while doing the opposite. Pay no attention to what he SAYS;
rather, watch what he DOES!
3. Obama has a ruthless quest for power. He did not come to Washington
to make something out of himself, but rather to change everything,
including
dismantling capitalism. He can’t be straightforward on his ambitions,
as the public would not go along. He has a heavy hand, and wants to
level the playing field with income redistribution and punishment to the
achievers of society. He would like to model the USA to Great Britain or
Canada.
4. His three main goals are to control ENERGY, PUBLIC EDUCATION, &
NATIONAL HEALTHCARE by the Federal government. He doesn’t care about the
auto or financial services industries, but got them as an early bonus.
The
cap and trade will add costs to everything and stifle growth. Paying
for FREE college education is his goal. Most scary is his healthcare
program, because if you make it FREE and add 46,000,000 people to a
Medicare-type single-payer system, the costs will go through the roof.
The only way to control costs is with massive RATIONING of services,
like in Canada . God forbid.
5. He has surrounded himself with mostly far-left academic types. No
one around him has ever even run a candy store. But they are going to
try and run the auto, financial, banking and other industries. This
obviously can’t work in the long run. Obama is not a socialist; rather
he’s a far-left secular progressive bent on nothing short of revolution.
He ran as a moderate, but will govern from the hard left. Again, watch
what he does, not what he says.
6. Obama doesn’t really see himself as President of the United States
, but more as a ruler over the world. He sees himself above it all,
trying to orchestrate & coordinate various countries and their agendas.
He sees moral equivalency in all cultures. His apology tour in Germany
and England was a prime example of how he sees America , as an
imperialist nation that has been arrogant, rather than a great noble
nation that has at times made errors. This is the first President ever
who has chastised our allies and appeased our enemies!
7. He is now handing out goodies. He hopes that the bill (and pain)
will not come due until after he is reelected in 2012. He would like to
blame all problems on Bush from the past, and hopefully his successor in
the
future. He has a huge ego, and Mr. Krauthammer believes he is a
narcissist.
8. Republicans are in the wilderness for a while, but will emerge
strong. Were pining for another Reagan, but there will never be another
like him. Krauthammer believes Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty & Bobby Jindahl
(except for his terrible speech in February) are the future of the
party. Newt Gingrich is brilliant, but has baggage. Sarah Palin is
sincere and intelligent, but needs to really be seriously boning up on
facts and info if she is to be a serious candidate in the future. We
need to return to the party of lower taxes, smaller government, personal
responsibility, strong national defense, and state’s rights.
9. The current level of spending is irresponsible and outrageous. We
are spending trillions that we don’t have. This could lead to
hyperinflation, depression or worse. No country has ever spent
themselves into prosperity. The media is giving Obama, Reid and Pelosi a
pass because they love their agenda. But eventually the bill will come
due and people will realize the huge bailouts didn’t work, nor will
the stimulus package. These were trillion-dollar payoffs to Obama’s
allies, unions and the Congress to placate the left, so he can get
support for #4 above.
10. The election was over in mid-September when Lehman brothers failed,
fear and panic swept in, we had an unpopular President, and the war was
grinding on indefinitely without a clear outcome. The people are in
pain, and the mantra of change caused people to act emotionally.. Any
Dem would have won this election; it was surprising it was as close as
it was.
11. In 2012, if the unemployment rate is over 10%, Republicans will be
swept back into power. If it’s under 8%, the Dems continue to roll. If
it’s between 8-10%, it will be a dogfight. It will all be about the
economy. I hope this gets you really thinking about what’s happening in
Washington and Congress. There is a left-wing revolution going on,
according to Krauthammer, and he encourages us to keep the faith and
join
the loyal resistance. The work will be hard, but were right on most
issues and can reclaim our country, before it’s far too late.
Hello, dummies!
Oh my God, look at you. Anyone else hurt in the accident? Seriously, Senator Reid has a face of a Saint — A Saint Bernard. Now I know why they call you the arithmetic man. You add partisanship, subtract pleasure, divide attention, and multiply ignorance.
Reid is so physically unimposing, he makes Pee Wee Herman look like Mr. T. And Reid’s so dumb, he makes Speaker Pelosi look like an intellectual. Nevada is soooo screwed! If I were less polite, I’d say Reid makes Kevin Federline look successful.
Speaking of the Speaker … Nancy Pelosi, hubba, hubba! Hey baby, you must’ve been something before electricity. Seriously, the Speaker may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot but don’t let that fool you. She really is an idiot. Madame Speaker … want to make twelve bucks the hard way? Pelosi says she’s not partisan, but her constituents call her Madame Pelossilini..
Charlie Rangel … still alive and still robbing the taxpayers blind. What does that make, six decades of theft? Rangel’s the only man with a rent-controlled mansion. He’s the guy who writes our tax laws but forgot to pay taxes on $75 grand in rental income! So why isn’t he the Treasury Secretary? Rangel runs more scams than a Nigerian Banker.
Barney Frank … he’s a better actor than Fred Flintstone. Consider …. he and Dodd caused the whole financial meltdown and they’re not only not serving time with Bubba and Rodney, they’re still heading up the financial system! Let’s all admit it … Barney Frank slobbers more than a sheepdog on novocaine. How did this guy get elected? Oh, that’s right … he’s from Massachusetts. That’s the state that elects Mr. Charisma, John Kerry — man of the people!
You kn ow, if Senator Dodd were any more crooked, you could open wine bottles with him. Here’s a news flash, Dodd: when your local newspaper calls you a “lying weasel,” it may be time to retire. Dodd’s involved in more shady deals than the Clintons. Even Rangel looks up to him!
Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, I really respect you … especially given your upbringing. All you’ve overcome … I heard your birth certificate is an apology from the condom factory. I don’t know what makes you so dumb, but it really works for you. Personally, I don’t think you are a fool, but what’s my opinion compared to that of thousands of others? Gibbs does his best expositional work in the bathroom every morning.
As for President Obama, what can I say? They say President Obama’s arrogant and aloof, but I don’t agree. Now it’s true when you enter the room, you have to kiss his ring. I don’t mind, but he has it in his back pocket. His mind is open to new ideas — so open that ideas simply pass through it. Obama lies so much, I was actually surprised to find out his first name really was Barack. Just don’t ask about his middle name! But Obama was able to set a record … he actually lied more in 60 days than Bill Clinton. As far as his administration — what with the tax cheat and lobbyists — well, in the words of Patches O’Houlihan, “It’s like watching a bunch of retards trying to hump a doorknob out there.”
With all due respect.
FOR THOSE THAT VOTED FOR “HOPE AND CHANGE” … BEND OVER AND PREPARE TO RECEIVE YOUR BOUNTY
I have consulted with Dr Kevorkian and we have concurred the the best course of treatment for John Fisher is heavy medication and a straightjacket. Mr Fisher, I advise you to seek help now before the death panels determine you too old to receive treatment. Once Medicare is gone I fear you will not be far behind. In the meantime, take 2 aspirins and get plenty of sleep.

you submit the writings of Mr Fisher for review,
its likely the ministry of health review will

health subsidies. Please opine if you believe

private insurance after healthcare reform, so
he presents significant liability. Also refer
to veterans affairs, first to confirm his status

Purplr Heart get VA benefits after 80.
Now that Barack has had a chance to step away from the healthcare fray for a couple of weeks, he’s come back more resolute than ever. Here is his 3 step plan to gain approval for government run, socialistic healthcare:
1) Arrest all protesters at Town Meetings and Tea Parties. Send them to Gitmo. Waterboard them until they think government run healthcare is a good idea.
2) Conduct telephone interviews with all Seniors. Those not agreeing with his healthcare plan; see 1) above.
3) Conduct national study of voter registration. Anyone listed as Republican or Independent; see 1) above.

When your Senators return from summer vacation next week, health care isn’t the only contentious issue they’ll have to address.
They will also consider the so-called “Cap-and-Trade” bill – a deeply flawed measure that will create a new energy tax on every household in America.
The House of Representatives has already passed this bill, although very narrowly, before recess. We must make our voices heard as the debate now shifts to the Senate.
This tax will do little or nothing to actually reduce global greenhouse gases – but it will raise energy prices, balloon the EPA’s bureaucracy, and threaten American jobs.
Instead of passing this deeply flawed bill, the U.S. Senate should start from scratch and focus on helping – and not destroying – American jobs and our economy, by promoting new energies and technologies.

Lord I generally agree with you but not on “John Fisher”. I think “John Fisher” is actually a 26 year old female intern working for the Obama propaganda corps. They are paid to right the thinking of wrong thinking Americans. They are in place in direct response to the hate mongering ultra right wingers like Rush, Sean, etc. They email blogs. They call radio stations. They give the illusion that there is support for the radical reform programs of Czar Barack. Fortunately most Americans are not that easily influenced and make up their own minds of important topics. Hopefully that will apply to listening to the press in the next election as well.

The FEAR we really have to FEAR!!
Have you been considering that the country has been plunged into the depths by the policies of past right wing Republican administrations? The country, near bankruptcy, so many people out of work, and millions of people, at the rate of 150,000 a week, are losing their health insurance, losing their homes, bankruptcies abound and, apparently, in their quest to destroy this democracy, Republicans persist in trying to discredit the President in whom so many have placed so much trust.
Republicans aren’t interested in the health of this nation, or in bringiing it up from the depths. Their only goal is to bring down the presidency, no matter what the cost in terms of an improved economy and the health and welfare of ALL the people.
Let’s say they succeeed!!! You’ve had the experience, or watched as the economy has been failing and, if you have not been, your relatives and friends may be out of work, lost their life’s savings, lost their homes, lost their health care. Left without hope, because of Republican deviates, they’ve entrusted governance into the hands of President Obama and those who are sincere in turning this once greater nation around.
Already, the stock market is showing improvement, jobs are still being lost (much triggered by the corporate greed which got us into this condition in the first place, but at a slower pace. Other indicators show that we are being brought up from the catasropy created by the Republicans.
Perhaps, if you want to let FEAR be your guide, consider that you have much more to lose if you listen to the propaganda/LIES of the right. They are geared to destroy Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Veteran’s Health care, and ALL government agencies.
They’ve all but destroyed the government. Don’t let them destroy you or anymore of your relatives, neighbors, or friends!! Consider where you would be if, suddenly, the ghouls who have no respect for human life, other than their own, proceed to take away, if you haven’t lost everything already, your Social Security, Medicare, and EVERY government sponsored program?? That’s the goal of the twistoligists who would have you believe otherwise. That’s the goal of the Republicans and other right wing extreminsts.
If your need is to FEAR – TAKE HEED!!!
Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and the government will step in and make it impossible for him to make a living
Obamas approval rating is down to 50%. He had it made before he over-reached with healthcare. After his address to Congress the rest of the country will wake up and his plan will be dead. Thank God! he could have been great, but he misread white America, they don’t want a socialistic welfare state taking care of them. Even poor whites without healtcare are overwhelmingly rejecting the Nanny State of Obama, they know its not what America is about. The Scots-Irish who comprise Americas red neck belt, trailor trash et al, dont want government handouts. Go visit an Indian Reservation if you want to see what socilaized medicine would be like, not a pretty site. The government has sent a blogger by the psydonymn “John Fisher” to infect blogs with misinformation about health plan. The messages are a virus, do not click on anything he posts with a link or it will infect your computer and take your personal information to spam you with more propaganda and will also monitor your internet activity and threaten your personal freedom. There is a black man in center city who is asking
woman for help with his baby’s car seat. He then
then kicks the woman into her car as she tries to
help. He has a gun and cleary is intent on rape and
or murder. Advise your wives and daughters to be aware
and do not take the bait. He is very cunning and plays
on a womans instict to help a man with a baby.
However, there is no baby, just a doll in the car
seat.
Also, caution your children about an indoctrination speach
to be given by the president of the united states, rememeber
that your children can be excused from hearing the message
if you don’t want them to be forced into this, just as they
can not be forced to pray in school. Van Jones has resigned,
he was another dangeous black man without a gun and
baby seat, but perhaps poses an even greater risk to our
City and Country. Meanwhile, white people are still outraged at
Michael Vick, probably the least dangerous most repentant black
man in the coutry. Judge a man by the content of his
character rather than the color of his skin!

Van Jones resigns from the Obama team and John Fisher has nothing to say? Because of the Van Jones’ in Obama’s team of infidels the US people have become leery of Obama’s true motivation with the health care issue and whether or not he has the right people in place to help save this economy. From Emanuel to that fraud Axelrod (a political hack ex reporter) the whole system is producing a foul oder.

it turns out they are real. You sir are a left

that’s all a level headed American need to know
to know to be against it.
As a liberal you are very judemental, you have no
idea….
KKK abott, resd your contributions!!!! If you know the definition of “judgmental” you have only to look in a mirror!!-:”)
Yes Fisher, I judge you to be a misinformed but well
meaning leftist, who pronouncement far exceed
his knowledge base. But the country will become a better
place because of the healtcare debate as more
well informed people take notice and decide not
to cede our nation to people who espouse your views.
Take a look at Peggy Noonan’s editorial in Saturday’s
WAll Street Journal, she does a good job of summing
up my point, Keep typing my friend, each of your
keystrokes takes us closer to the the correct
outcome, it will Obama’s Waterloo, and I feel bad
about it because I had great hopes for him, he has
badly miscalculated!
Abott….. or should I say George, your insightful interpretation of Mr. Fisher’s incoherant rants has left you frustrated and depressed. Why don’t you give it a break? Mr. Fisher is an idiot and is only an interfearence on the Larry Kane network. He will be gone as soon as Obama fails in his endevor to turn this country into the next France.
Fisher is truely a moron GW Bush. Van Jone was a very finge fellow, its hard to beleive that after reverend wright and Bill Aires that Obama would bring such a person into his administration. Van Jones referred to “white polluters” to introduce race into the environment. It would be funny if it were not true. Ed is right, people who were giving Obama the benefit of the doubt are pausing and saying what the fuck is he up to? I read the article Lord Abott cited, Noonan says that Obama’s faux elouquence is wearing thin and people are questioning whether he thinks he can just talk over most of us because we are too stupid to understand what’s best for us. Obama is going to see an autumn of discontent like he never imagined. Has anyone noticed that Afganastan is a mess and more soldiers are getting killed than under Bush, but it is not being reported as news, unbelieveable!
If Obama cant explain healthcare maybe he should try to explain his surge stratey in Afganastan because that is actually a matter of life and death and billion of dollars that could go into healthcare.

Try to remember that kind of September
When life was slow and oh, so mellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow
Try to remember the kind of September
When you were a tender and callow fellow
Try to remember, and if you remember,
Then follow
Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow, follow, follow, follow,,,,,
Who is George, GW Bush? George Bush Sr? I think your
right to ignore Fisher, but the more he talks
the more he exposes the farce of the half baked
healthcare plan. The Emporor Obama has no cloths,
on Wednesday in his address to Congress it will be
revealed that he also has no underwear!

Larry. I’m out on the streets right now and can only report in when I get a chance to stay at a web connected motel. Seems like things can’t get much worse but my clunker is holding up and I have a few dollars left after selling my home.
My herniated disc keeps me from working along with the stroke I suffered a while back. I have some feeling in my left leg and a tingling in my shoulder down to my thumb on my right hand so if you want a golf match you’ll have to wait until Obama can rectify the health care system and I can get some treatment. In the mean time I’m looking for a place to live.If you know of any place in the Phila area besides Phila let me know…………..
I’m sorry to hear of your plight Ed. Did you know
that only 28% of the population works 40 or
more hours per week. It brings two things to
mind, why aren’t more people working full work
weeks and who is going to pay for all of these
social programs if 72% of the population is not
currently working a full week.
Larry, take a stab at writing a real News Flash
this week, you need to make your wife and kids
proud!
10 contributors, 1 entity!!! Your Multiple personality disorder should be addressed by competent professionals!!! When the health plan, proposed by the Obama administation, is put into place THAT, my friend, may be the key to your recovery!!=:)
Thanks for your support!!!-:)
Did I mention that I also suffer from major depression? If Obama can help me out of that situation I might find myself voting for him in the next election, otherwise I will carry on and remain a rugged independent individual who considers the US a depository for those that feel entitled to a life whether they deserve it or not and those that overcome life’s burdens and rise up and of course we can’t forget those born with a silver spoon stuck up their a hole who believe that life is but a dream………..
Obama said today that his father was arrogant,
Does that surprise anyone?
Larry, your anti life stance is very troubeling.
Perhaps you might reconsider what you wrote today,
The pro life movement has nothing to do with
a womans reproductive rights, its about the right
to life that unborn children are being denied.
You really should reflect on this issue before
you spout off, everthing else you say is always so
qualifed, please give the unborn the same consideration!
