My Choice For President Is… And Message to The Mayor

That was just a teaser. You’ll never get that information from me. But I do want to leave you with some election day info.

So far, the amount of $$ spent on the Presidential campaign comes to $8.00 per vote. What does that say? It says that the networks should devote an hour a week in prime time for the ten weeks leading up to the election, and allow the candidates to go at each other without a moderator! How about that for a gut check?

Early voting. Congress should mandate it as national policy.

527 groups. The filth in the last part of this campaign was the worst. One 527 group resurrected the old-news Reverend Wright stuff. It was clearly racial. Another, supporting the other side, questioned the survival rate for John McCain, and asked viewers to imagine a President Palin.

Endorsements. This campaign proved once and for all that endorsements are meaningless and loaded with vanity. The only one that may have had impact was Colin Powell’s.

MESSAGE TO MAYOR NUTTER. Conventions: We need one city for both political conventions, a month apart. All they have to do is change the floor plan. That city should be Philadelphia. This is a no-brainer. It will save millions in security, millions for the media, and countless aggravation. The 2012 GOP AND DEMOCRATIC CONVENTIONS  SHOULD BOTH BE HELD IN PHILADELPHIA.  More on that later this week.

MOST INTERESTING LOCAL RACES TO WATCH. The famed former FOP union leader Rich Costello running against John Perzel. THIS COULD BE CLOSE.

In Western Pa.. legendary John Murtha could be defeated. If so, he would be the only Democratic incumbent that was ousted this year from Congress. Murtha faces payback by suggesting that some voters in his district are racist.

Have a great day. Vote!
