So Here’s The Real Story On Obama-Clinton and Pa.
As of this writing, there are 11 operatives “on the ground” in Pennsylvania. If Hillary Clinton loses Texas, the six Clinton organizers will leave as fast as they came in because Pa. will not be contested. The five Obama organizers may wait a bit just to shore up plans for November. The Clintonites are being led by Scott Freda, a 16 year Clinton veteran who seems cheerful despite the challenges facing the campaign.
In the forefront are ominous poll results in a nationwide survey. THE CBS NEWS SURVEY, featured on KYW Newsradio, has some startling results. When I broadcast a poll, I look for the background numbers. They are not hopeful to the Clinton national campaign. On the subject of electability: Obama beats Clinton 57 to 28. Head to head: Obama 50, McCain 46. Clinton 46, McCain 46. Obama is viewed by a wide margin as the man who will unite the country. McCain gets top marks for handling a foreign crisis, but Obama is in second place at 47 percent.
These figures in a major national survey show that Obama’s surge has been matched by extraordinary confidence in him.
As I write this, Obama seems to be pulling into the lead in Texas by just four points, within the margin of error of most polls.
Polls have been pointless in many of the contests, but the national surveys, like the CBS survey, have much larger samples and deal with registered voters of both parties.
Kane is such a tool. He actually gets paid for this? What a scam.
Obama will carry both Texas and Ohio, and Clinton will stop actively campaigning.
Pennsylvania will be Obama’s first opportunity to roll up a large vote in a large state without active opposition from the Clinton forces.

The post mortum on Hillary will be that this election exposed the sleazy tactics that worked well for the Clintons in the 1990s, but the current electorate is now too smart to be fooled, and modern media outlets on the interent and cable news expose these tactics with lightening speed. The voters are mad as hell and they are not going to accept desperate Willie Horton type scare tactis any longer. Hillary is going to be blown out in primaries next week and PA will not matter. By the way, Ed Rendell has admitted that his foot-in-mouth disease disqulifies him from VP, it’s rereshing to see a politician that understands his own persoanl limitations. He should talk to Joe Biden and Tom Ridge so you can stop talking about them as VP contenders. John Corzine is the best fit for Obama.

George, you are dead on. I think you have succinctly captured the situation with the possible exception of Corzine. I really don’t see the value or name recognition (outside to spending and the accident).
Larry, if these polls are accurate and the race will be over by 3/4, I think you should organize a suicide watch for JR. Keep a look out on the Walt Whitman Bridge for a jumper.

I believe that Obama will squeeze out a tight win in Texas. It will be enough so that Hillary will not be able to win the nomination but not large enough to make her quit the race. That is expecting her to be gracious and that is not in her nature. She can’t even thank her campaign workers when she loses a state.
Rendell is a fraud. “I’m too honest to be VP.” No, you are too fake. You pretend to be “just telling the truth” and the only thing you are doing is trying to help Clinton. Are we to believe that PA is more backward and ignorant than Wisconsin, Nebraska, or any of the dozen almost all White states that supported Obama?
Rendell insults his own state and hides it under the cloak of honesty.

Hillary’s starting to thrash around like a wounded animal. She’s lashing out. Seeding that photo of Obama in traditional tribal clothing is audacious. What’s worse is that there is no reason for her campaign to seed that without intending it to scare people based on their prejudices. Thus, her accusation that Obama is introducing the element of “fearmongering” is incredibly disingenuous.
And what of this Five Point attack she’s launching? Did she watch Kill Bill and draw inspiration from the five-point exploding heart move (if not from the title)?
She should exit the race in a dignified manner, not one that hurts the Democrats’ chances in November. But she has a bigger ego than Nader. She’ll take everyone down with her.

Clearly you listen to the press too much.
First off, there are no longer Black “leaders” - not in the traditional sense of A. Phillip Randolph, Marcus Garvey, etc. What you have now are mostly race hustlers. They wait for a White person or company to do something bad and then they pounce on it. They force that company to issue a retraction and quietly secure a contract for their organization. They are not really about helping people.
Second, all those people that Barack is avoiding are the past. The new class of Black “leaders” are more into preparing their own people for success than attacking examples of White racism. These new leaders can look at their own race and point out areas of improvement needed. They don’t blame all their troubles on “the man” while at the same time they are under no illusion that everything now is race-neutral.
Third, Obama has to be a President for ALL AMERICANS - not just Blacks. Heck, his mother is White! Even if she wasn’t he has to treat every group fairly. The old civil rights guys ask him what is his “Black” agenda - no, he has an American agenda. It is a shame how once revered people like Andy Young have made complete fools of themselves for Hillary Clinton.

I studied hard in school, got a good job, save for my retirement, didn’t go heavily into debt, am married to the mother of my children, have health insurance, get up and go to work every day, think the terrorists are evil, realize that *illegal* immigration is hurting the country, believe that free market capitalism is what makes this country great, and have pride in the USA.

What is the issue with the pastor of the church he attends? The pastor of my church holds political views that I can’t stand but, we follow the same religious system. “Affirmation action”??? Is that the way George Bush got into an Ivy Leage school despite tripping over the English language.
