I don’t think this is the year of the voter anymore than past elections. I think overzealous media types make the mistake of believing whatever is happening now is the most exciting/important thing ever. Here’s hoping this is the year of professional journalism to report on “the year of the voter.

I am with MCaesar– Gore did not simply lose his home state in 2000, he lost the state he and before him his father represented in congress for two generations. A bit like a Kennedy losing the white hose because they did not win Mass. – in 2000 tht election was Al’s to lose– ( populat president/solid economy/prosperty/peace) and he went and did just that.
This year its again the Dems to lose ( economy struggling/ unpopulat pres etc )
But as they proved in 2000- they can do just that and lose.

Al Gore is an idiot.

He would have been President if he had any sense at all. In 2000, all he had to do was say “4 more years of Clintonian posperity” but this moron chose to separate himself as far as possible from Bill?

He thought the public was so upset about Monica that he didn’t want to be connected to him. dummy

The ONLY thing Al Gore had going for him was his connection to Clinton. MEMO TO AL: most Americans don’t care that much about the environment (and we later learned neither did he personally until years later). Further, Al was way out of line getting involved in the Elian Gonzales tragedy. The boy lost his mother and belonged with his father.

Al tries playing up to the right wing and it was stupid politics. They were NEVER voting for him anyway. All he did was alienate his liberal base.

Stolen election?

Hardly. Win your home state if you expect to be elected President of the United States.

I am so glad the Democrats are not relying on that loser.

oh how I wish this mess were over.What more can any of us say?The clinton haters,including the press,will never accept Hillary,The obama haters will never accept him.The democratic party is now broken,possibly never to be fixed.

The independents rule,so why not make them a party?We who are committed to a party must vote the way we are registered in a primary,repugblican or democractic,why can they vote for whomever? oh yeah,I forgot,this is politics.

Gore has no desire to be Pres, or he would have ran, and likely cleaned house. I do agree with you Larry, if the Dem convention turns out anyone other than the man, woman, or child who garnered the popular vote then McCain wins by a landslide.

Hilary and Barack need to sit down and decide who will be the P and who the VP on the ticket and take it out of the hands of the convention. Together they beat McCain, apart the beat each other.
