Hillary Surprised, So Is Barack, and John Teaches Mitt That Money Doesn’t Always Talk
AS I WRITE THIS, IT IS LATE AND NIGHT AND I’M SO PUMPED UP, SLEEP WON’T COME EASY.
CAN IT GET ANY MORE EXCITING THAN THIS?
THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES SHOULD GET A REFUND FROM THEIR POLLSTERS ALTHOUGH THE UNDERDOG ROLE WORKED WELL FOR HILLARY CLINTON WHOSE NARROW WIN OVER BARACK OBAMA WAS AN UPSET, A SHOCKING TURNAROUND FOR HER, AN UPSET THAT HAS MADE THIS ELECTION YEAR ONE TO SAVOR AND IT’S JUST BEGINNING. THE RARE CLINTON LETDOWN WITH EMOTIONS RUNNING HIGH MAY HAVE HAVE PUT HER IN THE BEST LIGHT.PEOPLE CAN RELATE TO “BAD DAYS.” WOMEN VOTERS GAVE HER THE VICTORY IN NEW HAMPSHIRE. ALTHOUGH OBAMA GOT MOST OF THE INDEPENDENTS,
AND THE OTHER GIANT STORY OF THE NIGHT. GIVEN UP FOR TOAST IN THIS CONTEST, JOHN MCCAIN ROLLS OVER MITT ROMNEY IN ROMNEY’S BACKYARD.
JOHN IS BACK. RUDY IS ON THE SIDELINES. NEXT STOP FOR THE REPUBLICANS – MICHIGAN WHICH COULD BE THE LAST STOP FOR ROMNEY BUT THE GUY IS A GAZILLIONAIRE WHOSE NOT AFRAID TO USE HIS DEBIT CARD, WHICH I DON’T BELIEVE IS OVERDRAWN.
NEXT STOP FOR THE DEMS –NEVADA, A WEEK FROM SATURDAY AND SOUTH CAROLINA THE 26TH.
A FINAL NOTE ABOUT MCCAIN. JOHN MCCAIN HAS MADE A COMEBACK SO DRAMATIC. I CANNOT REMEMBER ANY CANDIDATE THAT WAS WRITTEN OFF IN A PRESIDENTIAL YEAR THAT HAS SCORED SUCH A DYNAMIC VICTORY.
HILLARY CLINTON’S STRIKE-BACK AT BARRACK OBAMA WAS A BLOW TO THE POLLSTERS WHO OBVIOUSLY NEED TO CHECK THEIR TRACKING METHODS, BUT ALTHOUGH THE VICTORY WAS NARROW, IT SHOWS NO ONE SEEMS INVINCIBLE..
BY THE WAY….
EXIT POLLS.,SHOULD I EVEN MENTION POLLS HERE, SHOW THE ECONOMY WAS NUMBER ONE ON PEOPLE”S MINDS. MONEY TALKS BUT NOT FOR MITT ROMNEY IN NEW HAMPSHIRE.
MY IMMEDIATE FORECAST – THE IRAN NAVY EPISODE MAY FORCE FOREIGN POLICY BACK ON THE FRONT BURNER.

Larry, the pollsters had Hillary 13 points down before the election started and i think O’bama thought he had it in the bag,but O’bama is the weaker candidate and would be the choice for the republicans only chance to win the whitehouse.
i am glad i didnot listen to some of your expert advice bloggers (kem, mike,ed,caesar, jeresey joe,joe etc, etc) and there nasty attacks at the Clintons they almost made me sway but i
stuck to my gut feeling,so fellas who are you going to endorse now anybody ,but please stay away from Hillary!!
Larry is is ok if i call, Hillary THE COMEBACK KID!!
Larry thanks, good luck and god bless
Well, I was over-dependent on the polls, too. Nonetheless, I still won’t support Hillbillary. The good news it that, if I am understanding this correctly, New Hampshire is actually a wash because Obama and Clinton each received 8 delegates. By that count, Obama is up one point when adding the Iowa and N.H. delegate totals. Is that right, Larry? OK, the beat goes on. I sure hope Nevada and South Carolina bring good vibes for Obama. We shall see what we shall see.
JR, are you telling me it took 60 years for Hillary to find her voice? All of the sudden she has emerged from the depths of ignorance to discover her human capabilities? That will be short lived. Once she realizes that she can’t sustain this warm, vulnerable facade, the REAL Hillary will again appear. The cold and utterly ambitious demons that drive her will once again be in full control. It should be fun to watch.
Hellooo Larry, where are all the rightwing Hillary haters today, they must have a Hillary hangover.
That was a amazing Comeback victory by Hillary last night.
Well anyway how does a ‘08 Clinton/O’bama ticket sound, this will keep the Dems in power for 12 to 16 years,Obama as v.p. would give him years of experience in foreign affairs and have him ready for 2016 to lead the country.
Also Larry,it is ashame the way the republicants wasted the great talent of Colin Powell,he will look good woking with Hillary and O’bama in the future, also the republicants can keep joe leiberman.
Oh my, folks…
We certainly do not need Baraq Husayn ‘Ubama living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. This is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. This is a tiger who cannot change his stripes. Be VERY careful, voters, concerning that for which you ask!
I do have to wonder exactly what happened out there:
-NH is a weird state, so many Independents it’s hard to say what is and what isn’t either the D or R party.
- NH is always very contrary, having to prove they aren’t following Iowa. I expected they would definitely go differently on the R side, but thought they might stay with Obama on the D side just to show they too could be tolerant enough to vote for him.
-however, one must consider that New England, especially the northern part, is very parochial and very racist. Obama did not do well in the blue collar areas which is worrisome.
-but that brings up the problem he is going to have in areas where there are primaries and urban areas with big political machines who can push out the vote. One would think those blue collar voters would have gone to Edwards like they did here, but instead they went to Hillary, old favors paid back?
-Last week at this time Obama was 6 points behind Hillary in NH, suddenly he was over 10 points ahead, what gives?? How could the polls have been so wrong again? In Iowa, the polls (except the Register poll) made Hillary look like she was a close 2nd, which she wasn’t, in NH they made her look like a real underdog. The result of which was to surpress the number of voters that may have gone out to vote to Obama (“Why bother, he’s way ahead”), to switch Independent votes to McCain because it looked like he needed them more than Obama, to make women think that this would be their last chance to vote for a woman for President since her campaign would end otherwise, and to make her 3% win look like an incredible comeback rather than the fact that she had lost half of her 6% lead and O had made a run at second. Conspiracy? Who benefits more from keeping the race going than the pollsters, who would otherwise have no work until next summer? Whose organization has the best connections with those people? If I can believe that the Rs would manipulate the numbers, don’t I also have to believe the Clintons would also?
- the Clinton attack machine, especially Bill, will go non-stop now. I can understand now why the Rs hate them so much. I think one reason that Edwards is staying in the race, is to be in position to be the alternative to Hillary if the Clinton machine sinks Obama.
-if Hillary does pull ahead, look to a large portion of the Ds trying to keep the nomination up in the air until the Convention when they will try for an alternative ticket (Gore/Obama? Edwards/Obama?)
-Can’t stand the way Bill is whining about how the press isn’t questioning Obama’s qualifications enough. Hell they aren’t questioning her claim of 35 Years of fighting for us. Especially annoying to see him attack Obama’s position on the war given that he recently tried to rewrite his and claim he was against it from the beginning.
-Hillary’s strength is mainly made up of women over 50. That will be the kiss of death next November. I could see Obama beating Romney (sincerity factor) and him beating McCain (youth trumps age), but Hillary will lose to McCain (not enough D women to win if the black vote resents her and stays home and the male vote goes to McCain). Probably lose to Romney also as both will come off so slick nobody but hard Core Rs will vote.
Next few weeks will be very interesting, this is usually when the established, organized candidate brings out the big guns and calls in the favors.
To Mr. Joe McDermott’s stupid idiotic comments – go back into the cave you crawled out of you racist idiot. Trying to link Obama to Osama is so childish and stupid on your part.
Are we supposed to give more credence to your comments because you indicate that you are in the Service stationed in Iraq….Well, although I normally support our Military for their service in serving in Iraq or anywhere for that matter, you are one military person I don’t support….
Joe Mc Dermott – another child left behind.
What’s Obama’s middle name?
Bye curious
Hey JR,
Enjoy it now, because she will never occupy 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue again, just look for the two of them to get nastier in attacking each other. Remember “O” still has a 1 delegate advantage, and don’t think they aren’t going to attack her “Emotional Moment”. 35 Years of doing what?
hey Mike,
if “O” get nasty, then Hill and Bill will get nasty too, they will attack his cocaine use.
I like ‘O’ but he is the weaker candidate and
of course the republicants would much want to face “O” in november then Hill and Bill, right Mike
I’ve read previous posts form that guy in Iraq and I don’t believe that he wrote
the flagrant racist remarks mentioned earlier in this blog. Anyone who serves this country in the military would be the least likely to offend a person of color. You live with the guy and you die with the guy.
I have run a couple of local, television newsrooms and a station or two before I moved to run the Rudman Institute at Philadelphia’s Drexel University. When they hold the “news crimes tribunal,” I am sure my name will be among those called to judgement. Be assured, it will be a crowded docket:).
I can’t really throw stones, since I write from a glass house.
Each day that I walked into the newsrooms I managed, I tried to muster respect for the viewers, listeners and web-users we served. I tried my best not to insult their intelligence or assault their sensibilities.
Our newscast offered them our very best assessment of the day through which we lived together and we tried to provide a crisp vantage point on the day we will all face, tomorrow.
Yes, we also showed our fair share of water-skiing squirrels. I know, that exactly doesn’t help democracy, either. That was done for punctuation, not perspective.
But, I am perplexed and a citizen and as a journalist, by both network election projections and cable news punditry.
Why do we now insist on telling viewers what they think before they have voiced their opinions? Why do we want to analyze their values before their votes are counted? So we can do slick promos about the speed at which we cover news?
In local news ,today, they love to tell 1/2 a story: “something’s happening- we’re not sure what- our helicopter, chopper 99, is overhead- a news 99 reporter and our HD-cam crew are speeding that way – when we know more, we’ll embellish that, too!
Sometimes you actually have to wait for a story to unfold, before you can report it accurately and fairly, even if technology let;s you move at the speed of light.
Is the worth of democracy being reduced to TV network bragging rights? Should networks be calling races based on 10, 12, 15, 20% of precincts reporting, just to make promos that say “we called it first?” Not sure how we’re served as a nation by this practice.
News is about weighing the value of each story. Mass media really can’t be mass produced. One size does not fit all stories.
We should hold these seminal events in the life of a nation to a higher standard. When it comes to election night punditry and projections, I love being first, but I really love being right!
Notice that JR was in hiding after the Iowa results came in. At least I don’t remember seeing him. Now he comes out of the woodworks when a small light comes on. We don’t yet know how voters will react to Hillbillary, her tactics and polling. It just may energize them. Larger portions of other demographics will now get their chance to vote. We have time. Her ‘win’ in NH does not lessen the drive Obama provides for agents of change. Her big pie face won’t be smiling for long.
Ed, I know a few racist marines. Cold-blooded racists. I also remember that some Nazis where comforted by American GIs in the officer’s quarters while ‘other’ Americans in uniform were relegated to crap status during WWII.
I know nothing about the Iraq issue you mentioned, but the honor that goes with the uniform has its limits on some folks.
Well, doggie…is anything about “Hillary the Movie” untrue???????
1. I am not in the military, thoough I did serve honorably for more than 20 years.
2. There is nothing ‘racist’ about my remarks.
3. ‘Husayn’ (or as Americans like to spell it ‘Hussein’) is Baraq ‘Ubama’s middle name, and ‘Ubama is the proper transliteration of this Arabic surname.
4. Read all about Mr. ‘Ubama’s background and ipbringing as a fundamentalist muslim. Then study the q’uran concerning the five pillars of islam, and their take on ‘unbelievers of the faith’.
5. Study hard the so-called Christian Church of which he is a member.
All of the information about Mr. ‘Ubama is available in open-source materials. As one who lives right now in Iraq, and one who deals with the fundamentalist islam mentality, and one who is a born-again Christian, I am simply asking America to proceed with caution.
Oh, and Mr. Ed…
If you think there is nop racism among people in the military, you are sadly mistaken. I live around these people day-to-day and there are many who are racist, sexist and generally people who behave badly. Having stated that, teher are also many who are honorable, God-fearing men and women who serve our country and defend freedom at home and abroad. If you had spent any time in the miltary at all, you know what I am talking about.
Mr. Stevens,
I made no link between Baraq Husayn ‘Ubama and ‘Usama bin Ladin, nor did I infer any link. I do not know where you got that inference.
to joe mc.:i am buying what you are selling.
i am not sold on O’bama, thanks for your service and wisdom.
Mr. Russell,
Thank you for your open mind. I saw an interesting article posted by Australian Prime Minister John Howard on the rise of radical islam in Australia, and the crux of message is, “You have the right to leave if you do not like our society”. Maybe some Americans would do good to not only read the missive, but think about our origins as a Judeo-Christian society, and why it is we have flourished for more than 200 years, and weathered conflict from within. God bless you, and God Bless the United States of America!
If people have not seen the Prime Minister of Australia’s coments:
========
Prime Minister John Howard – Australia
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.
Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation’s mosques. Quote: ‘IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.’
‘This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom’
‘We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!’
‘Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.’
‘We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.’
‘This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, ‘THE RIGHT TO LEAVE’.’
‘If you aren’t happy here then LEAVE. We didn’t force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.’
===============
Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, American citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths.
God bless the United States of America!
Mr. McDermott, talk about a wolf in sheep’s clothing, when someone states that they “deployed” to Iraq it’s only natural to assume they are in the military. Who else “deploys” to Iraq, the sugar plum fairy? If you have any facts to back up your fears I would be interested in seeing them. If not, have a nice life.
Most of the Obama/Muslim connection has been thrown overboard be those with more than four brain cells. You do the math.
Updated saying “Lies can be halfway around the Internet before truth puts on its pants”
Mr. Ed,
I am deployed to Iraq as a Departmenr of Defense Contract Interrogator. Yes, sir, even Contractors deploy. We g through the same training as our military counterparts, and provide a level of expertise to the military mission which is lacking among many of the young soldiers. We are very much a part of the front line of defense in the Global War on Terror. Your naivete’ is incredible.
As far as the truth about ‘Ubama…
visit http://www.obamatruth.org for starters.
Then, try a dose of the Trinity United Church of Christ – the Church to which ‘Ubama claims membership – here’s their website: http://www.tucc.org
After you visit tucc.org, compate their basic 12 tenets and ask yourself…
How many Americans would vote for a presidential candidate who was the member of a church that professed the following credo?
1. Commitment to God
2. Commitment to the White Community
3. Commitment to the White Family
4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6. Adherence to the White Work Ethic
7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of “Middleclassness”
9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White Community
10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
11. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
12. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.
OK – I am done on this issue, Mr. Ed. God Bless You!
Larry,
Nice call on McCain, your “watch the quiet man” article got it right about him, the pollsters should check with you before they proclaim the next primary winner.
On Obama, it seems the people of NH will never be told an outcome in advance and they prove that in every election. It also seems Obama got a little full of himself at the end with MLK and JFK comparisons, a bit much at this point in his short political carrer, so I think New Hamshire wanted to refute his outragous claims. Also it will be interesting to see if the Clintons play the race card more heavily, they’ve had surrogates doing it to date, such as their NH campaign manager. Now that tool, Andrew Cumo saying Obama “shucks and jives”, men under the age of 70 would say bob and weave in that instance, he clearly was trying to make a sterotypically racial statement in a sublimal way (probably a term he learned from daddy Mario Cumo). Watch out, there will be a lot more of this in coming weeks as the Democrat machine slowly eats its young. Obama will know what a “high tech lynching” is once the Clintons get finished with him in coming weeks.
