Check Out These Letters on Jimmy Carter’s Support For Hamas

A real debate is part of a reporter’s dream.

Check out the mail and please add your thoughts. The letters follow the comments in the story before this.
It is rare that a former American President would praise a known terrorist organization like Hamas. On that I will never budge.

But I am thrilled about the input on both sides of this.

There He Goes Again - Jimmy Carter Lends Terrorists a Helping Hand

This must be so frustrating to the exceptional leaders who have struggled to find a solution to the various impasses in the Middle East.

FIVE DAYS AFTER THE TERRORIST BOMB-MAKING HAMAS FIGHTERS TOOK OVER THE GAZA STRIP, THEY RECEIVED PRAISE FROM THE 39th PRESIDENT WHO TOOK THE WEST TO TASK FOR SANCTIONING HAMAS.

In a break with tradition, Carter also blasted our government for supporting moderate factions in the West Bank who seek peace talks.

The fumbling former President is discrediting himself by walking on the side of the maniacal terror killers in Gaza.

Mr. President, a brief civics lesson. Israel gave up Gaza. Hamas started firing rockets at civilian areas of Gaza. The Hamas revenge seekers killed Fattah fighters by throwing them off of rooftops.

And all this hypocrisy from the winner of the Nobel Peace prize?

A New Email Mystery - And Final “Thoughts ” On Soprano Final

The story was buried in the headlines yesterday, but make a note: it could become a major story. In fact, the new report comes exactly three months after crusading prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald complained of missing White House emails in the Libby-CIA leak investigation.

This time, the House Oversight Committee reports that the emails of 88 White House staffers on a Republican National Commitee email account, are missing. These are emails that could have an impact on two investigations: the probe of the firing of U.S. Attorneys , and the Congressional investigation of overcharges by a Halliburton subsidiary in the Iraq war.

Will they be found? That’s doubtful but if the House committee finds any evidence of coverup, the material will be turned over to federal prosecutors.

A Final Note on the Final Soprano’s…. (fade to black, kill the sound)

David Chase, producer of the Soprano’s, forgot the number one principle of good television - never forget the viewer. Great series - questionable finale.

There is no question in this reporter’s mind that the symbolism of the final scene suggests that Tony was taken out, but the question is; how?

These are the present theories from my small circle of “informants.”

Tony was shot by masters of revenge.

He was killed by his psychiatrist in a wild rage.

His son did it.

He choked on the onion rings.

Why did I wait a week to report this?  Because I wanted to wait for every other analysis of the ending, so that these meaningless interpretations would stand out.

Series over. Go to black screen. Kill the sound…..

Unless You Have A Roadmap In Your Mind, “Signs” Will Get You Lost in Philadelphia!

It’s a good thing I know where I’m going, because if you don’t have a roadmap in your mind, you get lost in Philadelphia.

Example : Drivers headed north of Delaware Avenue do not have proper signs directing them to the ramp that takes you to Market Street. IT IS A DISGRACE.

Example: Signs from the sports complex to 95 and 76 are too small and impossible for visitors.

Example: Signs in Center City, although improved, are still a mess.

Example: Signs on the MLK and Kelly Drives are sometimes non-existent.

Example : Exit signs through the horrible parking maze at Philadelphia Airport are murky (handmade) and dangerous. IS THE PARKING AUTHORITY LISTENING?

It would take a small book to list all the lousy directions in Philadelphia.

This is tourist season. The City and the area LOOK great. But people who visit here are confused and strained about directions. TRY re-entering Philadelphia airport when you have to circle around! This must be a visitor friendly town.

Not everyone has GPS.

Getting lost in the big city can be a frustrating event.

City Hall needs to move on this fast.

And the area’s counties, especially in South Jersey, are decades behind in the concept of offering visitors directions.

If you have the right attractions, people will come. If they get lost a lot, they probably won’t come back.
