Unless You Have A Roadmap In Your Mind, “Signs” Will Get You Lost in Philadelphia!

It’s a good thing I know where I’m going, because if you don’t have a roadmap in your mind, you get lost in Philadelphia.

Example : Drivers headed north of Delaware Avenue do not have proper signs directing them to the ramp that takes you to Market Street. IT IS A DISGRACE.

Example: Signs from the sports complex to 95 and 76 are too small and impossible for visitors.

Example: Signs in Center City, although improved, are still a mess.

Example: Signs on the MLK and Kelly Drives are sometimes non-existent.

Example : Exit signs through the horrible parking maze at Philadelphia Airport are murky (handmade) and dangerous. IS THE PARKING AUTHORITY LISTENING?

It would take a small book to list all the lousy directions in Philadelphia.

This is tourist season. The City and the area LOOK great. But people who visit here are confused and strained about directions. TRY re-entering Philadelphia airport when you have to circle around! This must be a visitor friendly town.

Not everyone has GPS.

Getting lost in the big city can be a frustrating event.

City Hall needs to move on this fast.

And the area’s counties, especially in South Jersey, are decades behind in the concept of offering visitors directions.

If you have the right attractions, people will come. If they get lost a lot, they probably won’t come back.

I thought I was the only who noticed this. Every time a guest comes into the city, they’re always getting lost. I give out directions using landmarks instead of streets signs. But half the time they foolishly disregard everything I say and read the signs. Luckily, I one of the people with a roadmap in mind just in case I ever in their situation.
