True Beatlemaniacs know that Beatles albums are better experienced on vinyl played backwards. I have an uncle on my biological father’s side of the family whose a Beatlemaniac. Scary, I know.

Hi Larry,

I’m a longtime Philly resident and Beatles fan now living in SW FL. I’ve enjoyed your writings on the Beatles; “Ticket to Ride” is about as objective and close a look at the first Beatles tour as we’ll ever see.

But as much as I’ve loved “Sgt. Pepper” over the years, I don’t think it’s the best album ever recorded or even the best the Beatles did. (That honor belongs to “Revolver,” which represents the romanticism, mysticism, and bitterness the group felt at its absolutely peak.) But it remains an amazing achievement, and I look forward to its re-mastering (with today’s digital CD technology) and re-release later this year.

My best to you…you can take the man out of Philly but, you know the rest.

i was in utero when released (dob 9/15/67) i’m still blown away whenever i listen to this masterpiece.
