Scary Reports From Europe - History Of Hate Is Repeating
This is really frightening news. And don’t accept this as just a footnote to the headlines. This is important!
A survey by the Anti-Defamation League shows that in
France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Poland, a large
portion of the population is anti-semitic. Nothing new, you ask?
Some highlights or lowlights –44 percent of these
Europeans believe that Jews have too much influence in
business and finance. That phony theory allowed Hitler
to wage genocidal war against the Jews.
Over 40 percent believe that the Jewish minority in
Europe talks too much about the Holoccaust. 51
percent think that Jews are more devoted to Israel
than their own countries.
These attitudes stem largely from two thousand years
of passed down generation –to-generation ignorance and lies.
I wanted to share a personal story from a
friend who just returned from France, a nation whose
many citizens willingly turned over at least
80-thousand Jews to the Germans for execution in WW
II.
It seems that he ran into several people in Paris who
told him that showing any signs of Judaism , even
wearing religious symbols, is now a very dangerous
thing to do in France. The result, according to these eyewitnesses -
harassment and even beatings
I bring this subject up because America largely looked
the other way when Europeans first persecuted and then
imprisoned and murdered the Jews.
Just like in Darfur and Rwanda, we have learned that
we cannot, as a nation, afford to look away again.
These reports from Europe are scary, but not surprising
especially from France, a nation whose anti Semitism
is well known and spreading.
Maybe a couple of years ago, I read a story in the New York Times about anti-Semitism in France. Schoolkids were beaten and taunted by classmates and administrators wouldn’t do anything about it. As I see it, any school that would allow this to go on isn’t doing a good job of educating and is in fact condoning such despicable behavior. Adults faced similar hostility and harassment, according to that article. As you said, this isn’t surprising. Unfortunately, I also see signs of it in this country from elements on the far right and the far left. From a cultural perspective, anti-Semitism is a tragedy. From a moral perspective, it’s a sin. From a common-sense perspective, it’s insane.
Keep in mind, there were many Germans executed by Hitler as well. It was not the Germans (as a people) who were responsible, but a sick individual, named Adolf and a group of henchmen just as evil.
This is what can happen when government limits the rights of law-abiding citizens to carry guns for self defense. Those who are victimized by society need ways to protect themselves from members of society who practice hate. Obviously, governments in France and other European countries are not going to protect Jews from these haters, and so Jews must be allowed to defend themselves. No one beats up a guy who is carrying a gun.
The other Paul (second poster) makes a good point about other Germans being executed. That was a by-product of Hitler’s hatred for the Jewish people.
We have to speak up against anti-Semitism. Something like the Holocaust must never be permitted to happen again.
Liberals have this strange fascination with morally and culturaly superior European’s but in general they are lazy racist people. This article doesn’t surprise me at all.

To the first Paul– yes, it was Hitler, but you can’t commit a murder like that without willing people. Yes,many Germans were executed. But most were Jewish or political leaders that Hitler eliminated.
Dan: Good point on guns, as long as the weapons are in the hands of people seeking security. it’s a tough issue.

It’s scary when a group is always right. In fact that’s how you can tell when people are lying. The lies just get bigger and bigger and grander and grander.
