Larry Kane Joins CN8 Team!
CN8 welcomed the return of Larry Kane, the dean of Philadelphia news anchors, to on-air television with his new show, “Larry Kane: Voice of Reason,” which premiered January 29. The exclusive 30-minute show, airing Sundays at 6:30, features discussion and analysis of hard-hitting news and newsmakers that goes beyond the headlines to tackle the stories that have a major impact on people’s lives.
Kane’s first episode featured an exclusive sit-down interview with former Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge who discussed his tenure as national security czar.
“We, like so many of our viewers, are thrilled that Larry is returning to TV, and honored that he will make his return on CN8, joining our family of award-winning hosts,” said Jon Gorchow, general manager and vice president, CN8. “Larry’s expertise in covering the who’s who of news and the world’s most renowned events will add great value to our Sunday night programming. We are excited to introduce Kane’s unique journalistic style to CN8 viewers from Maine to Virginia, and to make it available to Comcast systems nationwide.”
“I’ve spent the last few years doing radio commentary, newspaper analysis and consulting for Comcast’s CN8,” says Kane. “This is a defining moment for TV News, and CN8 is seizing it in many areas. In an era when local television stations across the country are walking away from community commitment, Comcast and CN8 are expanding theirs. This unique programming philosophy, combined with CN8’s vast regional audience, offers me and the network an exciting new opportunity in news coverage.”
